08-05-2024 4.30 p. m. The second meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the eighth meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Board room of KCCI. CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
14-05-2024 4.00 p. m. A Meeting was called by Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru, Shri Gokuldas Nayak to discuss and provide suggestions on conducting Industry Vacancy Requirement Training Survey 2024-25 by various trade associations. KCCI was represented by Hon. Secretary, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.
16-05-2024 3.00 p. m. The First Meeting of the KCCI Conclave Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2023-24 was convened at the Board Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-President and Chairman of Members Day Celebration Sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Anand G. Pai. Present in the meeting were Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, KCCI Hon. Secretaries, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri B. A. Nazeer,          Shri Aditya Pai, Shri Vincent Cutinha, Shri Sujir Prasad Nayak, Past Presidents, Shri Issac Vas, Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor and Shri M. Ganesh Kamath.
17-05-2024 3.00 p. m. TiE Mangaluru, supported by KDEM launched Silicon Beach Dialogue Series, a quarterly event at CUBOID, wrkwrk, Mangaluru. Founding President, TiE, Shri Rohit Bhat, Vice President, TiE, Shri Shyamprasad Hebbar and other dignitaries were present on stage. Speakers from diverse backgrounds shared their views on making Dakshina Kannada region, which is also an education hub to a technology hub. KCCI was represented by the Hon. Secretary and Director, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Directors Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Shri Ashith B. Hegde.
20-05-2024 3.00 p. m. The Second Meeting of the KCCI Conclave Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2023-24 was convened at the Board Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Vice-President and Chairman of the Committee, Shri Anand G. Pai. Present in the meeting were KCCI Hon. Secretaries,      Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Shri Aditya Pai.
10.30 a. m. KCCI facilitated arranging the speaker, CA Adarsh Shenoy for the Guest Talk at Alva’s College, Moodabidri on the topic, ‘Emerging Trends in Accounting’. Students and faculty members attended the session.
22-05-2024 3.00 p. m. Webinar / Outreach Programme on “Notices Issued Under GST – In Kannada language” was organized by Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS) and Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, Bengaluru Zonal Unit in association with Karnataka State Tax Practitioners Association (KSTPA), Karnataka, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (KSCAA), Karnataka, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, Tumakuru District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TDCCI), Tumakuru and Hassan District Small Scale Industries Association (HADSSIA), Hassan. Distinguished speakers on the occasion were Shri Roopam Kapoor, I.R.S., Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST, Bengaluru Zone and Shri R. Manohar, I.R.S., Additional Director General Directorate General of Taxpayer Services Bengaluru Zonal Unit. KCCI GST Sub-committee Chairman, CA Keshava N. Ballakuraya was also one of the Guest Speakers on the occasion.
31-05-2024 3.30 p. m. Commissioner of Customs conducted Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) meeting at Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Custom House, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Smt. Vinita Shekhar, Commissioner of Customs, Mangaluru. Shri Sandeep Kottary, Deputy Manager, EXIM Logistics, Cargolinks attended the meeting on behalf of KCCI.
05-06-2024 10.45 a. m. KCCI celebrated World Environment Day by planting a sapling at the KCCI premises. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu graced the event by planting the sapling. Present on the occasion were KCCI Vice- President, Anand G. Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri P. B. Ahmad Mudassar, Director, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Past Hon. Treasurer Shri Ahmad Bawa and staff of KCCI.

13-06-2024 3.00 p. m. Strategy Meet of Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd (MSEZL) was held at IBNII, Madikeri, Coorg. MSEZL Chief Executive Officer, Shri V. Suryanarayana delivered the opening remarks. Sessions on Corporate Strategy Proposals, Improvements / augmentation of water and various other topics were discussed. KCCI was represented by its President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu. CFO of MSEZL, Shri K. S. Ramesh, CS V.Phani Bhushan and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
  5.30 p. m. Ms. Hilary McGeachy, Consul General, Australian Government, visited KCCI for an interactive meeting with the Vice-President of KCCI, Shri Anand G. Pai on collaboration with Australian government with regard to trade and commerce, tourism and other areas in Mangaluru and in and around Dakshina Kannada region. Ms. Harriet White, Vice Consul, Australian Consulate – General, Bengaluru was also present. Others present on the occasion were, KCCI Hon. Secretaries, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri Amit Ramachandra.
17-06-2024 2.00 p. m. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu met Regional Director (South), India Tourism, Chennai, Ministry of Tourism (Govt. of India), Shri Venkatesan Dhattatreyan at Hotel Vivanta, Mangaluru and briefed him about the Chamber activities for the development of trade and commerce in Dakshina Kannada region. Also present on the occasion were KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Past President of KCCI, Smt. Vathika Pai.
22-06-2024 6.30 p. m. KCCI celebrated its Conclave for the year 2024 at Dr. T.M.A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu welcomed the guests. The Past Presidents of KCCI were felicitated during this event. Dr. Ajay Prabhu, President – Technology Services, Quest Global, Bengaluru, was the Speaker on this occasion who addressed the gathering. He was introduced by Vice-President and Convenor of the Conclave Shri Anand G. Pai. The event was compered by the Past President of KCCI, Smt. Vathika Pai and the Director of KCCI, Ms. M. Athmika Amin. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar.

One Day International Workshop on Fisheries Improvement on the project, ‘One India One FIP’, a Pathway to a Sustainable Fishery on the Indian Coast, was organized by Indian Marine Ingredients Association (IMIA) at Ritz Carlton, Bangalore. IMIA President, Shri Dawood Sait delivered the welcome address. Dr. Nicola Clark, Impact Manager, Marin Trust, UK., was the keynote speaker on the occasion. There was open forum discussion by the Industry Experts. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the event.
26-06-2024 3.00 p. m. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Professional Skills Enrichment Committee (PSEC), ICAI, Mangaluru Branch of ICAI (SIRC) in association with KCCI, organized International MSME Day – Entrepreneurship Skills for Chartered Accountants, at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the opening address on the topic. The resource persons for this event were, Shri Devaraj K (IDES), Joint Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Mangaluru who spoke on Schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Entrepreneurial Skill Development Program by the Ministry and Udhyam Registration and Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru who spoke on Industrial Policy and benefits of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program for the MSMEs. Present on stage were Vice-Chairman of Mangaluru Branch Managing Committee of ICAI, CA. Prashanth Pai K., and Secretary, CA. Daniel Marsh Periera. Chairman of ICAI Mangaluru, CA. Gautham Pai D., and other delegates were present on the occasion.
27-06-2024 10.30 a. m. Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT) and the Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME), organized a conference on the occasion of World MSME Day at The Capitol Hotel, Bangalore. “Building a Stronger Future Together for MSMEs” was the theme of the conference. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu addressed the gathering through video presentation in his absence at the venue. Delegates from various industries participated in the event. Shri Santosh Ganesh, Founder & Global Chairperson, Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade also actively participated.
29-06-2024 11.00 a. m. A virtual Roadshow on the 4th Edition of Emerging Star Start-up Awards 2024 was organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Bengaluru. Speakers on the occasion were, Shri Prakash R, Co-Chairman, Agro and Food Processing Expert Committee, BCIC and Technical Director, Centre for Holistic Agriculture & Green Enterprise (CHANGE) and Shri Shivayogi Turmari, Director, KLE CTIE.  KCCI was the associate partner for the event. The event was virtually attended by Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

Chethan Nayak & Associates, Practicing Company Secretaries celebrated their 25 years of service. The event was held at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Dr. Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi, Hon. Chancellor, Yenepoya (Deemed to be University). The Guest of Honour on the occasion was Shri Jaikumar Seetharaman, Advocate, Founder and Country Head, Swamy Associates. At the event there was also a business talk on the topic, “Introducing the Next Generation into Family Businesses” by Shri Vikas Jain, New Delhi, international keynote and motivational speaker. 18-04-2024 12 noon KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed took part in the virtual interactive meeting with the Standardization Cell of Ministry of Fisheries, Government of India. Bureau of Indian Standards, CIFT, NFDB, etc. participated in this Meeting. The Secretary, Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA), Chennai, Director, ICAR – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi, President, Seafood Exports Association of India (SEAI) among others virtually participated in the event.
20-04-2024 12.30 p. m. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu met the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Projects, Shri Vinayak Pai at World Konkani Centre (WKC), Mangaluru. Present on the occasion were President of WKC and Director of KCCI, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and other dignitaries.
24-04-2024 10.00 a. m. SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, the EDP Association organized a workshop on Issues and Challenges on Entrepreneurial Success at its conference hall.  KCCI Director, Shri Aditya Pai was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The technical sessions were presented by Ms. Preethi Nayak and Shri Praveen S. Bhandary. Present on the occasion were Principal of SDM college of Business Management, Ms. Aruna P. Kamath, Staff Coordinator EDP Association, Ms. Supritha R. K. and student coordinators, Ms. Chandana Nambiar and Shri Harshendra B.S.
29-04-2024 9.00 a. m. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the session of the Seafood Task Force (STF) at The Leela, Mumbai. The STF, a Global Trade Association, convened the session to address forced labour and illegal fishing within Shrimp and Tuna Supply Chains. During the session, STF outlined its objectives and work details. Shri Nissar actively engaged in the discussions.
30-04-2024 10.00 a. m. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KCCI and Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru at the college campus. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and college Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C. Present on the occasion were, KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, President, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), Shri Manel Annappa Nayak, Assistant Professors, Ms. Reshma, Ms. Vidya Bhat, Ms. Deekshitha T.S, Associate Professor, Shri S. Syed Kahdar from the college.

Review meeting and plan of action on Solid Waste Material Management and Single Use Plastic (SUP) was called by the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan M. P. at his office in Mangaluru.  KCCI was represented by its Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer.

28-02-2024 10.00 a. m. KCCI President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu was the Chief Guest at Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM), Mangaluru, at its Mangalore Entrepreneurs Day IDEATION’24. The event was presided over by the President, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), Shri Manel Annappa Nayak. Also present on stage was Director, MSNIM, Dr. Molly S. Chaudhuri. KCCI Past President, Smt. Vathika Pai was also present on the occasion. The occasion marks the 111th birth anniversary of Shri Manel Srinivas Nayak, a distinguished educationist and former President of KCCI, after whom MSNIM is named.

KCCI in association with DST Technology Enabling Center, Nitte University, Mangaluru, organized a Session on Key Elements For The Success of Food Industry – Regulatory, Technological And Funding Ecosystem For Food Industry, at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the welcome address. Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai introduced the speakers and the moderator of the panel discussion to the audience. Dr. Sanu Jacob, Director, FSSAI spoke on the topic, Regulatory Compliance, Dr. K. Narayanan, Founder, Director, Sthayika Seeds Pvt. Ltd., Bengaluru spoke on the topic, Technological Aspects of a Successful Food Industry and Arvind Modi, Partner, Sathguru Catalysers, Hyderabad, addressed the gathering on Startup and Funding Ecosystem for Food Industry. Dr. Iddya Karunasagar, Advisor (Research & Patents), Nitte University, Mangaluru was the moderator for the panel discussion. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar were also present on the occasion. Business owners, senior management from the food industry, staff and students from various educational institutions attended the event. The meeting was chaired by Shri Sanjay Gupta, CMD of Konkan Railway Corporation. KCCI representative of the KRUCC committee, Shri G. G. Mohandas Prabhu attended the meeting.
05-03-2024 11.00 a. m. Workshop on total ban on single use plastic (SUP) in Mangaluru city was organized by Mangaluru City Corporation at their Conference Hall. The meeting was chaired by the Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur. KCCI Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer attended the workshop.
    5.00 p. m. KCCI President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu as the Chief Guest addressed the valedictory session of CA POWER 25 Season 4th batch students at World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru. World Konkani Centre Chairman and Director of KCCI, CA Nandagopal Shenoy and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
12-03-2024 8.00 a. m. Extension of Kasargod -Thiruvananthapuram Vande Bharat Express up to Mangaluru station was flagged off virtually by the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and representative member of KCCI to Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC), Shri Ahmed Bawa attended the event at Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
    11.00 a. m. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu was invited for the Entrepreneurs Meet organized by Bharatiya Janatha Party at Hotel Ocean Pearl. Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis was the Chief Guest on the occasion. KCCI President addressed the gathering and submitted the memorandum to the Deputy Chief Minister. Member of Parliament of Dakshina Kannada, Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel and District BJP President, Sathish Kumpala were also present on stage. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor also attended the event.
    3.00 p. m. KCCI President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu met the Secretary of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), Shri C. H. Mohan at his office at Baikampady, Mangaluru and briefed him about the issues faced by some of the industries and requested him to do the needful. Others who attended the meeting from KCCI were, Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Past President of KCCI, Shri P.B. Abdul Hameed, KCCI member, Shri Prakash Kalbavi and other members.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KCCI and Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur, at the President’s Chamber of KCCI as part of Industry-Academia Interconnect. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and Director, MBA Program, Vivekananda College,  Dr. Robin Manohar Shinde. Present on the occasion were KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand Pai, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ahwin Pai Maroor.
    3.30 p. m. The First Meeting of the Infrastructure for KCCI Knowledge Centre, Sub-Committee of KCCI was convened at the Board Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of the committee, Shri Anand Pai. Others who attended the meeting were KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P.B. CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
14-03-2024 3.30 p. m. KCCI organized a Workshop on Unlocking Business Potential – A tailored Business Workshop at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Business owners and Finance Heads of various organizations attended the session. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the welcome address. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai introduced the speakers to the audience. Speakers for the event were Shri Pugal T., Senior Consultant, Tally Solutions who spoke on ‘Skyrocketing your business to the next level’, Shri Sushant Shetty, SVP & Head, Channel Liabilities, DBS Bank India spoke on ‘Discourse by DBS’ and Shri Shreyas Bharadwaj, Account Director – ESMB – South India, Sales Force addressed the gathering on ‘Discourse by Sales Force’. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor was also present on the occasion. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar
18-03-2024 9.00 a. m. St Aloysius (deemed to be University) in collaboration with Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) organised “Samavesha 2024” – Uniting Minds and Igniting Innovations. The inaugural ceremony was held at Fr L.F. Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block was presided over by Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ. Shri Adeeth Kalbavi, Managing Director of Kalbavi Consumer Foods Pvt. Ltd. was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Immediate Past President of KCCI delivered the keynote speech and highlighted the role of technology in innovation.  There were enlightening sessions by various speakers.
19-03-2024 10.00 a. m. Members of Red Chilli traders called on KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and briefed him about the problems faced by them from railways in transporting their goods to various destinations. They submitted memorandum to KCCI President and requested to take up the matter with the railway departments. KCCI had written letters to railway authorities seeking immediate action for the smooth functioning of trade activities.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru and Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Panaji, Goa at GCCI. The MoU was exchanged between the Presidents of both the Chambers, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and Shri Shrinivas V. Dempo respectively. Others present on the occasion from KCCI were Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Past President, Shri Isaac Vas and Chairman of KCCI ADR Centre, Prof. CA Lional Aranha. Members from GCCI who attended the event were, Vice-President, Ms. Pratima G. Dhond, Hon. Treasurer, CA Rohan Bhandare, Director General, Shri Sanjay Amonkar and others.
23-03-2024 3.00 p. m. KCCI held its valedictory ceremony on the successful completion of 27 hours of 1st Batch of Comprehensive GST Training Program held from 23rd February, 2024 to 23rd March, 2024 at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Accounting professionals from various companies and job seekers actively participated in large numbers for the training. All the trainers were Chartered Accountants with extensive knowledge and experience in various fields. A practical session on Tally was also conducted at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) lab in Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the training program. Chairman of the GST sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava Ballakuraya re-iterated some of the challenges faced in GST related works with case studies and suggested suitable remedies. All the participants were presented with the certificates. CA Sabana and CA Shraddha Sanghvi, present on the occasion, addressed the participants. Participants shared their feedback and also suggested that they look forward to more training programmes. Hon. Secretary, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar rendered the vote of thanks.
