Mangaluru City Corporation organized a stakeholders Consultation workshop on Hydro-Meteorological Resilience Action Plan (HmRAP) at Mangala Sabhangana, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru. The Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur and Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation, Shri C. L. Anand addressed the members present in the meeting. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the workshop.
06-07-2024 6.00 p. m. Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held their 116th Annual General Function at Cidade de Goa Horizon, Dona Paula. The Chief Guest on the occasion was the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant. The Guests of Honor for the event were Shri Mauvin Godinho, Minister for Transport, Industries, Panchayat Raj & Protocol, Govt. of Goa and Shri Rohan Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, IT & Printing and Stationery, Govt. of Goa. 10-07-2024 11.00 a. m. The Second Meeting of the Income Tax Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2023-24 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of the committee, CA Prasanna Shenoy. Present in the meeting were KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, other members of the committee, CA Gautham Nayak, CA Sriram Rao and special invitee, Past President of KCCI, Shri P.P. Nagesh Pai.
4.30 p. m. The Fourth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the Tenth Meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Boardroom of KCCI. CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
11-07-2024 10.00 a. m. A workshop on the implementation of ban on single-use plastic was organized by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSP-CB) and Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI) at Mangala Auditorium, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru. The workshop was inaugurated by Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur. The workshop was conducted by Senior Environment Officer, Ms. Vijaya Hegde, Environment Officer, Shri Mahendra DP, Environment expert, Shri B. N. Prakash. KCCI was represented by its Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer.
5.30 p. m. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru branch, organized a session on Navigating Working Capital Dynamics, at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. CII Mangaluru District Council Chairman, Shri Ajith Kamath delivered the welcome address. The panelists for the discussion were, Shri Giridhar Rajaram, Head of Wholesale & Mid-Corporate Banking, Karnataka Bank, Bengaluru, Shri Amith Pai, Director, Amith Cashews Pvt Ltd, Udupi, CA Prasanna Shenoy M, Chairman of KCCI Income Tax sub-committee, Ms. Divya D’Souza, Partner & Chef, MD’Souza Caterers, Life & Business Transformation Coach, Founder President, EVOLVE. Present on the occasion from KCCI were the President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri B. A. Nazeer and Shri Amit Ramachandra. The closing remarks was rendered by Shri Natraj Hegde, Vice Chairman, CII Mangaluru District Council.
15-07-2024 10.00 a. m. KCCI Director, Shri Vincent Cutinha was the speaker at Yenepoya Institute of Technology Centre for Skill Development & Training, Moodabidri. He delivered a talk to the engineering students on Building Future Ready Skills: Preparing for a Dynamic Job Market.
5.00 p. m. Southern Railway, Palakkad, conducted an introductory meeting of the newly formed Railway Station Consultative Committee at the longue of Mangaluru Central Railway Station. The meeting was chaired by Shri Narayana Naik, Deputy Station Manager, Commercial, Mangaluru Central Railway station. Convener of the meeting was Shri P. K. Ajit Kumar, Station Manager, Mangaluru Central railway station. KCCI was represented by its President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and the Past President of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor.
17-07-2024 11.00 a. m. KCCI President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Office, Mangaluru. Member of Parliament of Dakshina Kannada, Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Shri Mullai Muhilan and senior railway officials were present on the occasion. Others who attended the meeting were the Hon. Secretaries of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Director, Shri B.A. Nazeer, Past President of KCCI and Chairman of Railways sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor and KCCI representative on Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC), Shri Ahmed Bawa.
19-07-2024 11.30 a. m. Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd. (MSEZL) conducted its 80th Board Meeting at their Conference Room. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman and also the Director (Finance) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). KCCI was represented by its President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu.
20-07-2024 12 noon Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, chaired a meeting at the Conference room of Deputy Commissioner’s office to review highway issues of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu had submitted a memorandum to Capt. Brijesh Chowta the previous day to immediately look into the issues with regard to the blockade of Mangaluru – Bengaluru road connectivity at Shiradi and Sampaje Ghats. Shri Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner, Shri D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Mangaluru South MLA, Shri Anupam Agrawal, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru also spoke on the occasion. KCCI Past President and Chairman of Railways sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor attended this meeting.
2.15 p. m. Infosys hosted the Board of KCCI at its campus in Mudipu, Mangaluru. Infosys Vice-President and Head – Delivery Risk Management, Shri Vasudev Kamath welcomed the delegates from KCCI and spoke about Infosys campus in Mangaluru and took us around the campus facilities. KCCI also held its meeting at the campus to discuss renovating the KCCI Meeting Hall and other areas of the building. Ar. Niren Jain presented the plan. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri B.A. Nazir, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri Aditya Pai, Shri Vincent Cutinha and Shri Sujir Nayak. KCCI President along with the Board planted a sapling at the Infosys campus.
4.15 p. m. Shri Ahmed Bawa, KCCI representative of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) attended the meeting called by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mangaluru to discuss the issues pertaining to railway facilities and services offered to traveling people and those affecting trade and commerce. KCCI President had earlier submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna during his visit to Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan. Representatives of various trade associations were also present.
24-07-2024 6.00 p. m A meeting on Dakshina Kannada Skill Development Mission was called by the CEO of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Dr. Anand K at NIC Hall at their premises. KCCI organized a session on New Criminal Laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) at the KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Anupam Agrawal IPS, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru. The Resource Person was Shri K. Pritviraj Rai, Advocate and Immediate Past President of Mangalore Bar Association. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu presented the welcome address. Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai introduced the Chief Guest and the Resource Person to the audience. People from various business entities, advocates, staff and students from various educational institutions attended the event. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba and Hon. 26-07-2024 6.30 p. m. Canara Bank, Mangaluru organized an MSME Outreach programme at the auditorium of Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Mangaluru. The Guests on the occasion were Shri Arun Padiyar, President, KIA, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, President, KCCI and Shri Gokul Das Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru, in association with PricewaterhouseCoopers International Limited (Pwc) as Technical Partner organized a session on ‘Post Budget Analysis’ at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru to enable members to understand the implications and impact of the budget on various sectors. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the event.
30-07-2024 12 noon Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized the Post Union Budget 2024-25 National Conference, Journey towards Viksit Bharat at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Various associations across India participated in the event through a virtual platform. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Guest who addressed the gathering. Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal was the Guest of Honour at the event. Finance Minister, Smt. Niramala Sitaraman and other Ministers were also present on the occasion. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor attended the event virtually at KCCI.
3.30 p. m. The Second Meeting of the Airlines, Airport and Tourism Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2023-24 was convened at the Conference room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by Chairperson of the subcommittee, Smt. Vathika Pai. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor. Speakers from diverse backgrounds shared their views on making Dakshina Kannada region, which is also an education hub to a technology hub. KCCI was represented by the Hon. Webinar / Outreach Programme on “Notices Issued Under GST – In Kannada language” was organized by Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS) and Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs, Bengaluru Zonal Unit in association with Karnataka State Tax Practitioners Association (KSTPA), Karnataka, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (KSCAA), Karnataka, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, Tumakuru District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TDCCI), Tumakuru and Hassan District Small Scale Industries Association (HADSSIA), Hassan. Distinguished speakers on the occasion were Shri Roopam Kapoor, I.R.S., Principal Chief Commissioner of CGST, Bengaluru Zone and Shri R. Manohar, I.R.S., Additional Director General Directorate General of Taxpayer Services Bengaluru Zonal Unit. KCCI GST Sub-committee Chairman, CA Keshava N. 13-06-2024 3.00 p. m. Strategy Meet of Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd (MSEZL) was held at IBNII, Madikeri, Coorg. MSEZL Chief Executive Officer, Shri V. Suryanarayana delivered the opening remarks. Sessions on Corporate Strategy Proposals, Improvements / augmentation of water and various other topics were discussed.   5.30 p. m. Ms. Hilary McGeachy, Consul General, Australian Government, visited KCCI for an interactive meeting with the Vice-President of KCCI, Shri Anand G. Pai on collaboration with Australian government with regard to trade and commerce, tourism and other areas in Mangaluru and in and around Dakshina Kannada region. One Day International Workshop on Fisheries Improvement on the project, ‘One India One FIP’, a Pathway to a Sustainable Fishery on the Indian Coast, was organized by Indian Marine Ingredients Association (IMIA) at Ritz Carlton, Bangalore. IMIA President, Shri Dawood Sait delivered the welcome address. Dr. Nicola Clark, Impact Manager, Marin Trust, UK., was the keynote speaker on the occasion. There was open forum discussion by the Industry Experts. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the event.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Professional Skills Enrichment Committee (PSEC), ICAI, Mangaluru Branch of ICAI (SIRC) in association with KCCI, organized International MSME Day – Entrepreneurship Skills for Chartered Accountants, at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the opening address on the topic. The resource persons for this event were, Shri Devaraj K (IDES), Joint Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Mangaluru who spoke on Schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Entrepreneurial Skill Development Program by the Ministry and Udhyam Registration and Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru who spoke on Industrial Policy and benefits of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program for the MSMEs. Present on stage were Vice-Chairman of Mangaluru Branch Managing Committee of ICAI, CA. Prashanth Pai K., and Secretary, CA. Daniel Marsh Periera. Chairman of ICAI Mangaluru, CA. Gautham Pai D., and other delegates were present on the occasion.

Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT) and the Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME), organized a conference on the occasion of World MSME Day at The Capitol Hotel, Bangalore. “Building a Stronger Future Together for MSMEs” was the theme of the conference. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu addressed the gathering through video presentation in his absence at the venue. Delegates from various industries participated in the event. Shri Santosh Ganesh, Founder & Global Chairperson, Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade also actively participated.
29-06-2024 11.00 a. m. A virtual Roadshow on the 4th Edition of Emerging Star Start-up Awards 2024 was organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Bengaluru. Speakers on the occasion were, Shri Prakash R, Co-Chairman, Agro and Food Processing Expert Committee, BCIC and Technical Director, Centre for Holistic Agriculture & Green Enterprise (CHANGE) and Shri Shivayogi Turmari, Director, KLE CTIE.  KCCI was the associate partner for the event. The event was virtually attended by Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.
