Brijesh Chowta at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru and attended the event on Exchange of Expression of Interest (EoI) between Mangalore SEZ Ltd and MIR Group. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, Directors, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Dasharath N. 4.45 p. m. District level Kaigarika Spandana meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Dist., Shri Mullai Muhilan M. P. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the meeting.
24-11-2024 5.00 p. m. The Sirsi Urban Sahakari Bank Ltd., Sirsi, opened their new branch at Kadri Kambla, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by the Chief Guests on the occasion, Shri Anand G. Pai, President, KCCI, Shri Jokim Louis Pinto, President, Mandd Sobhann, Mangaluru and Shri Pradeep J Pai, Managing Director, Hangyo Icecream Pvt. Ltd., Mangaluru. The event was presided over by Shri Jayadev U. Nilenkini, President, The Sirsi Urban Sahakari Bank Ltd., Sirsi.
25-11-2024 6.00 p. m. A meeting was called by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada District., Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP at his residential bungalow,  Mangaluru to discuss on the preparations for the Heritage Week to be held on 30th November and 01st December, 2024 at old Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Vice-President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the meeting. DC sought the co-operation of various trade bodies.
26-11-2024 3.00 p. m. An interactive session with the B.Com students of Trisha college, Mangaluru, was held at their campus to discuss the internship opportunities for their students on the Focus Area of KCCI, ‘Enhancing Member Engagement’. KCCI Director, Shri Ajay Prabhu and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A, addressed the students. The Principal of the college, Dr. Manjunath and other staff members were present on the occasion.
4.15 p. m. Rashtriyawadi Christara Vedike, Mangaluru, organized, ‘Asuvu Rashtra Samarpita’ at the War Memorial in Kadri Park, Mangaluru in memory of the martyrs of 26th November, 2008 terrorists attack, Mumbai. The event was presided over by the Vice Chancellor, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru, Fr. Dr. Praveen Martis SJ. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was one of the Chief Guests on the occasion.
30-11-2024 9.30 a. m. The Heritage Week Celebrations at the Old Deputy Commissioner’s (DC) office were inaugurated with the ‘Echoes: A Heritage Festival Celebrating Mangaluru’ was being held for three days. Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District., Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP highlighted the 150-200 year history of the complex, emphasizing that the event was a collective effort to showcase Mangaluru. The Dakshina Kannada district administration, in partnership with the tourism department, KCCI and other associations organized the event. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai and Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar attended the inaugural event. Several Directors of KCCI attended the event. The public gathered to see the Heritage building opened for viewing. Exhibitions, competitions for school and college students and musical evening were the attractions of the event.
03-12-2024 4.00 p. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai called representatives of various associations for a meeting to discuss on the land allotment of Jaiprakash Engineering and Steel Company Ltd (JESCO) which has been taken back from them in the recent court order and will be soon available for industries. Due to acute shortage of land available for the development of MSMEs/Logistic Park / IT park in our region, it was decided to collectively involve and approach the government to consult all the stakeholders in allocation of land. The meeting was attended by KCCI Vice President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, KCCI Past Presidents, Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor and Shri Isaac Vas, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Chairman, Mangaluru Chapter, Shri Ajith Kamath and Kanara Industries Association (KIA) President, Shri N. 06-12-2024 10.00 a. m. SME Connect, an interactive session was organized by Government of Karnataka, Invest Karnataka Forum at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. The objective of the programme was to actively promote SMEs and endeavour to connect them globally, nationally and locally to buyers, OEMs through the newly developed SME Connect portal by Invest Karnataka Forum.  KCCI Vice President, Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar delivered the welcome address. Senior Assistant Director – FICCI Karnataka State Council, Shri Ashwin Srirangaraj, addressed the members about the significance of this session. The sessions were presented by Shri K. Lukman Shareef, Samarth Lead – Flipkart on the topic, ‘Advantage : E-commerce platforms, Shri Rajeev V.C.,  Vice President & Regional Head, The Federal Bank Ltd., and his team spoke on the topic, ‘Finance Options for MSMEs’,  Shri Vasuki Kashyap, Partner Engagement, NASSCOM spoke on ‘Industry 4.0’, Shri Ashwin Srirangaraj, Senior Assistant Director – FICCI Karnataka State Council demonstrated portal updation for SMEs and Shri Ullas Kamath, UK & Co and Chairman, FICCI Karnataka State Council joined online and spoke on the topic on Business Continuity. Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru was also present on stage. KCCI Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Shri B.A. Nazeer, Past Hon. Treasurer of KCCI, Shri Ahmed Bawa was present on the occasion. Members of SMEs, college staff and students attended the event. The Vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai.

A preparatory meeting for Karavali Utsava to be held from 21st December 2024 to 19th January 2025 was called by the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru, Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, KAS at the Court Hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the meeting. 4.15 p. m. The First Meeting of the Internal Complaints Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2024-25 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai, Hon. 4.30 p. m. The ninth meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the third meeting of the present Board Committee of KCCI were held at the Board Room of KCCI. Shri Anand G. Pai, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.

Preparatory Meeting on Karavali Utsava 2024 to be held at Karavali Utsava Ground, Mangaluru, was called by Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan, IAS at his office. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the meeting. Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Shri U.T. Khader and District In-charge Minister and Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao attended the meeting through video conference.  Present at the meeting were Additional Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru, Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar. Members of trade associations and government officials were also present at the meeting.

An outreach program on the Declaration of Foreign Assets and Income was organized by KCCI in association with the Mangaluru branch of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai delivered the welcome address. 2.00 p. m. Interactive meeting with the delegates of the University of Olivet, Michigan, USA Team was organized by St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis, Vice Chancellor, St. Aloysius (Deemed to be University) chaired the meeting. Dignitaries from University of Olivet were, Shri Steven M. Corey, Ph.D. President of The University of Olivet, Shri Gregory Brown, DBA, CIC, Assistant Professor of Insurance and Risk Management, Shri Daniel Green, D.M.A., Special Assistant to the President. KCCI was represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A. This meeting was regarding the collaboration of both the Universities and seeking industry inputs in bridging the gap between industry and academia.

KCCI organized a seminar on GST Amnesty Scheme 2024, Fake Invoices and their consequences by the Office of the Commissioner of Central Excise & Central Tax (GST) at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Shri Anand G Pai, KCCI President delivered the welcome address. CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Chairman of KCCI GST sub-committee addressed the gathering on the significance of the seminar. Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar, Vice-President, KCCI introduced the Chief Guest, Shri S. Kesava Narayana Reddy, IRS, Commissioner of Central Tax & GST, Mangaluru and the Guest of Honour, Dr. Somanna C., IRS, Additional Commissioner, Central Tax & GST, Mangaluru who addressed the gathering. KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai welcomed the members present. The outgoing KCCI Journal Editor, Ms. Salome Lobo Pereira was congratulated by the members for her exemplary work in bringing the journal with good inputs. 19-12-2024 7.30 a. m. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai garlanded the bust of the Late Shri Ullal Srinivas Mallya, the visionary of Mangalore and the Co-Founder of KCCI at Padil, Mangaluru on the occasion of his 59th death Anniversary. Others who garlanded the bust were, KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretary, Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai, KCCI Director and President of World Konkani Kendra, Mangaluru, CA Nandagopal Shenoy. Members of other associations were also present.

Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) held its 164th meeting at Valluvanad Hall, Divisional Office, Palakkad. KCCI representative of DRUCC, Shri Ahmed Bawa attended the meeting. Shri Arun Thomas, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager delivered the welcome address. The meeting was chaired by Shri Arun Kumar Chaturvedi, Divisional Railway Manager, Palakkad division. Representative members of other associations were present.
20-12-2024 9.15 a. m. Bank of Maharashtra opened their new Mahaveer Circle  (Pumpwell) Branch in Mangaluru. KCCI President,            Shri Anand G. Pai inaugurated the bank. The ATM was inaugurated by CA Shantaram Shetty, Mangaluru. The branch Manager, Shri Kiran H and Zonal Manager, Hubballi Zone, Shri Sucheth M. D’Souza were present on the occasion.
4.00 p. m. The second meeting of the Standardization Cell was organized by the Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India through video conferencing. The meeting was Chaired by Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries). KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the virtual meeting. The meeting focused on traceability SOPs/Frameworks for fish and fisheries products in India, Gradation of Hatcheries (Shrimp/Carp/Freshwater Prawn/Pangasius/Tilapia/Trout Ornamental Fish, etc.), Guidelines / SOPs for Aquaculture waste disposal other than Coastal Aquaculture and other topics were discussed. Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed emphasized the need for proper Waste Management which is a major hazard for air pollution.

Karavali Utsava 2024 (commencing from 21st December, 2024 to 19th January, 2025) was inaugurated by District In-charge Minister and Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada Dist., Managluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP, IAS, Police Commissioner of Mangaluru, Shri Anupam Agrawal and other dignitaries at Karavali Utsava Ground, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Anand G. Pai was one of the Guests of Honour at the event.
28-12-2024 11.25 a. m. Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan, IAS, called a meeting through zoom platform to discuss about screening movies on occasion of Karavali Utsava at Bharat cinemas, Bharat Mall, Mangaluru on 2nd and 3rd January 2025 for the public with free entry. Bharat Cinemas Head, Shri Bala Shetty and Chief Operating Officer of KCCI, Shri Mytreya A attended the meeting. Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District, Mangaluru, Dr. G. 13-01-2025 12 noon KCCI delegation, led by President Shri Anand G. Pai met Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, at Dharmasthala and submitted a memorandum requesting the restoration of a 10-kilometer stretch between Maranahalli and Addahole (NH 75), along with the release of emergency funds. The memorandum also urged the expedited completion of the four-laning project between B.C. Road and Sakleshpur. The delegation included Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Hon. 21-09-2024 11.00 a. m. Mangalore International Airport Ltd., (MIAL) hosted KCCI officials at their venue. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Airport Officer, Mangaluru International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) and Shri Vipin Nair, HR Manager, MAIL welcomed CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI and Shri Anand G Pai, Vice President, KCCI and other accompanying KCCI delegates, Shri P.B. 6.00 p. m. Shri Anand G. Pai was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri Anand G. Pai is the Executive Director of M/s Bharath Beedi Works Private Limited, Mangalore. He started his Professional career through his family business and took charge of Strategic Planning and Diversification of Bharath Group. He completed schooling in Mangalore. He graduated as Industrial Production Engineer from Andrews University Michigan, U.S.A. and later pursued Masters in Software Engineering from the same University.

Delegates from Mangalore Bar Association (R.) called on KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai at the Conference Room of KCCI and submitted a memorandum seeking KCCI support for setting up of the Bangalore High Court bench in Mangaluru, a long awaited need of the litigants of Mangaluru and other coastal region. A workshop on the implementation of ban on single-use plastic was organized by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSP-CB) and Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI) at Mangala Auditorium, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru. The workshop was inaugurated by Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur. 20-07-2024 12 noon Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, chaired a meeting at the Conference room of Deputy Commissioner’s office to review highway issues of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu had submitted a memorandum to Capt. Brijesh Chowta the previous day to immediately look into the issues with regard to the blockade of Mangaluru – Bengaluru road connectivity at Shiradi and Sampaje Ghats. Shri Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner, Shri D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Mangaluru South MLA, Shri Anupam Agrawal, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru also spoke on the occasion. KCCI Past President and Chairman of Railways sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor attended this meeting.
2.15 p. m. Infosys hosted the Board of KCCI at its campus in Mudipu, Mangaluru. Infosys Vice-President and Head – Delivery Risk Management, Shri Vasudev Kamath welcomed the delegates from KCCI and spoke about Infosys campus in Mangaluru and took us around the campus facilities. One Day International Workshop on Fisheries Improvement on the project, ‘One India One FIP’, a Pathway to a Sustainable Fishery on the Indian Coast, was organized by Indian Marine Ingredients Association (IMIA) at Ritz Carlton, Bangalore. IMIA President, Shri Dawood Sait delivered the welcome address. Dr. Nicola Clark, Impact Manager, Marin Trust, UK., was the keynote speaker on the occasion. There was open forum discussion by the Industry Experts. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the event.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Professional Skills Enrichment Committee (PSEC), ICAI, Mangaluru Branch of ICAI (SIRC) in association with KCCI, organized International MSME Day – Entrepreneurship Skills for Chartered Accountants, at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the opening address on the topic. The resource persons for this event were, Shri Devaraj K (IDES), Joint Director, MSME Development and Facilitation Office, Mangaluru who spoke on Schemes of the Ministry of MSME, Entrepreneurial Skill Development Program by the Ministry and Udhyam Registration and Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru who spoke on Industrial Policy and benefits of the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Program for the MSMEs. Present on stage were Vice-Chairman of Mangaluru Branch Managing Committee of ICAI, CA. Prashanth Pai K., and Secretary, CA. Daniel Marsh Periera. Chairman of ICAI Mangaluru, CA. Gautham Pai D., and other delegates were present on the occasion.

Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade (GCPIT) and the Confederation of Indian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (CIMSME), organized a conference on the occasion of World MSME Day at The Capitol Hotel, Bangalore. “Building a Stronger Future Together for MSMEs” was the theme of the conference. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu addressed the gathering through video presentation in his absence at the venue. Delegates from various industries participated in the event. Shri Santosh Ganesh, Founder & Global Chairperson, Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade also actively participated.
29-06-2024 11.00 a. m. A virtual Roadshow on the 4th Edition of Emerging Star Start-up Awards 2024 was organized by Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), Bengaluru. Speakers on the occasion were, Shri Prakash R, Co-Chairman, Agro and Food Processing Expert Committee, BCIC and Technical Director, Centre for Holistic Agriculture & Green Enterprise (CHANGE) and Shri Shivayogi Turmari, Director, KLE CTIE.  KCCI was the associate partner for the event. The event was virtually attended by Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

16-04-2024 4.30 p. m. The first meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the seventh meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Boardroom of KCCI. CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
18-04-2024 12 noon KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed took part in the virtual interactive meeting with the Standardization Cell of Ministry of Fisheries, Government of India. Bureau of Indian Standards, CIFT, NFDB, etc. participated in this Meeting. The Secretary, Coastal Aquaculture Authority (CAA), Chennai, Director, ICAR – Central Institute of Fisheries Technology (CIFT), Kochi, President, Seafood Exports Association of India (SEAI) among others virtually participated in the event.
20-04-2024 12.30 p. m. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu met the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Tata Projects, Shri Vinayak Pai at World Konkani Centre (WKC), Mangaluru. Present on the occasion were President of WKC and Director of KCCI, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and other dignitaries.

SDM College of Business Management, Mangaluru, the EDP Association organized a workshop on Issues and Challenges on Entrepreneurial Success at its conference hall.  KCCI Director, Shri Aditya Pai was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The technical sessions were presented by Ms. Preethi Nayak and Shri Praveen S. Bhandary. Present on the occasion were Principal of SDM college of Business Management, Ms. Aruna P. 29-04-2024 9.00 a. m. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the session of the Seafood Task Force (STF) at The Leela, Mumbai. The STF, a Global Trade Association, convened the session to address forced labour and illegal fishing within Shrimp and Tuna Supply Chains. During the session, STF outlined its objectives and work details. Shri Nissar actively engaged in the discussions.
30-04-2024 10.00 a. m. Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KCCI and Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru at the college campus. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and college Principal, Dr. Praveen Kumar K.C. Present on the occasion were, KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, President, Women’s National Education Society (WNES), Shri Manel Annappa Nayak, Assistant Professors, Ms. Reshma, Ms. Vidya Bhat, Ms. Deekshitha T.S, Associate Professor, Shri S. 06-05-2024 03.00 p. m. Review meeting and plan of action on Solid Waste Material Management and Single Use Plastic (SUP) was called by the Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan M. P. at his office in Mangaluru.  KCCI was represented by its Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer.
