The Resource person for the event was Shri Vishwas U S Rao, Chairman of the Start-up Sub-committee of KCCI who addressed the students on the topic, 21st Century Skills. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was the Speaker at the Seminar on the theme, ‘Aqua Feeds and Feeding’ conducted by US Grains Council for the Aquaculture at Taj Vivanta, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. He spoke on the topic “Raw Material Scenario for Aqua Feed”. It was attended by multiple stakeholders from the Aqua Feed Industry to meet and collaborate for growth of the industry
12-08-2024 03.30 p. m. The Fourth Meeting of the Elevating Brand Mangaluru, Focus Area of KCCI for the year 2023-24 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Chairperson of this Focus Area, Ms. Athmika Amin. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Young Indians (YI), Mangaluru in association with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Credai Women’s Wing and KCCI organized a training session on Accident First Responders at Credai Hall, Empire Mall, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu attended the event. YI Chair, Ms. Athmika Amin and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
22-08-2024 7.30 p. m. KCCI organized an interactive meeting with Captain Brijesh Chowta, Member of Parliament (MP), Dakshina Kannada District at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the welcome address. KCCI Vice-President Shri Anand G Pai introduced the MP to the audience. The Office Bearers of KCCI felicitated the MP. President presented the memorandum to the MP and Director of KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar read the key points of memorandum to the audience. The vote of thanks was rendered by Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar. Also present on stage were Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba and Hon. Secretary, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor.
23-08-2024 10.30 a. m. Srinivas University (SU), Dept. of MBA organized MANEGMA – 2024, a hybrid one day National Level Conference on Reconnect & Reimage: Strategies for Achieving Success in Management, IT, Social Sciences & Humanities at their Gallery Hall of Pandeshwar Campus, Mangaluru. KCCI Director, Shri Amith Ramachandra was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The key note address was delivered by Research Professor & Guide, IMC, SU, Mangaluru. Present on the occasion were Chancellor, Srinivas University & President, A.S.F., Mangaluru and Dr. CA. A. Raghavendra Rao. The Guests of Honour on the occasion were, Dr. A. 31-08-2024 5.00 p. m. CA B. Balakrishna Shanbhogue, the outgoing Statutory Auditor for KCCI was felicitated for his exemplary service to the chamber for more than five decades. 06.00 p. m. The Sixth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the Twelfth Meeting of the present Board committee of KCCI was held at Mangalore Club. CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
04-09-2024 04.00 p. m. KCCI organized a session on ‘How to Generate eBRC for Export – Live Demo’ by Shri Abdul Rahiman Thajuddeen, EXIM Consultant, Mangaluru as the Speaker at the Conference Room of KCCI. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu delivered the welcome address. KCCI EXIM cell, Sub-committee Chairman, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira addressed the members on the relevance of the topic. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai introduced the Speaker to the members. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar proposed the vote of thanks. 10-09-2024 03.00 p. m. 9th Permanent Trade Facilitation Committee (PTFC) meeting was held at the Office of the Commissioner of Customs, Customs House, Mangaluru. The meeting was Chaired by the Commissioner of Customs, Ms. P. Vinitha Sekhar, IRS. KCCI was represented by its Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba.
11.00 a. m. GSK Bio-metric Centre was inaugurated by Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner, Commercial Tax, Mangaluru at their GST office. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Past Treasurer of KCCI, Shri Ganesh Bhat and other dignitaries attended the event.
11-09-2024 11.00 a. m. Inauguration of Bio-metric Authentication of GST (Central) i.e. CGST Suvidha Kendra was held at GST Taxpayers Facilitation Centre, Mangaluru. It was inaugurated by Shri S.K. Narayana Reddy, Commissioner of Central Tax, Mangaluru Commissionerate. CA Keshava Ballakuraya, KCCI GST Sub-committee Chairman, attended the event.

The AIC Nitte Incubation Center, in partnership with the Institution Innovation Council of Nitte Deemed to be University, launched Karavali Startup Programme 2024 at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru to inspire youth entrepreneurship and boost the Karavali region’s profile. Dr. G. Santhosh Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada Dist. was the guest for the event who inaugurated the programme. Dr. Shantharam Shetty, Pro Chancellor, Nitte (DU) and Shri Nandakumar V, Director (Refinery), MRPL were also the guests on the occasion. 04.00 p. m. A district level screening committee meeting was held to discuss on the industrial land allotments at District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru. The meeting was Chaired by Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, DIC, Mangaluru. Heads of various trade associations were present in the meeting. KCCI was represented by its Director, Shri B.A. Nazeer.
14-09-2024 11.00 a. m. KCCI facilitated the Industrial visit of the students of Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Besant Women’s College, Mangaluru to Deccan Plast Industries, Mangaluru as part of Industry-Academia Interconnect.
21-09-2024 11.00 a. m. Mangalore International Airport Ltd., (MIAL) hosted KCCI officials at their venue. Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Airport Officer, Mangaluru International Airport Ltd. (MIAL) and Shri Vipin Nair, HR Manager, MAIL welcomed CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI and Shri Anand G Pai, Vice President, KCCI and other accompanying KCCI delegates, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretary, KCCI, Shri B.A. Nazeer and Shri Vincent Cutina, Directors, KCCI and Shri Mytreya A, Chief Operating Officer, KCCI. The airport officials presented the road map of development projects of the airport including safety and attracting more travellers to and fro Mangaluru. KCCI dignitaries were taken around the airport showing them the passenger amenities and cargo facilities benefitting domestic and international trade.

The 65th National Symposium with the theme “Sustainable Livestock Sector: Threats, Challenges and Opportunities.” Was held by Compound Feed Manufacturers Association (CLFMA) of India, an association of livestock industry held at Hotel Novotel, Goa. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was elected as the Hon. Secretary. Union Minister, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Chairman of CLFMA India, Shri Suresh Deora and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
25-09-2024 3.00 p. m. 54th GST Council Meeting Recommendations & RCM Under GST was organized by Directorate General of Taxpayer Services (DGTS) Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs Bengaluru Zonal Unit, in association with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Kerala State Council, Kerala Merchants Chamber of Commerce (KMCC), Kerala, Karnataka State Chartered Accountants Association (KSCAA), Karnataka, Cochin Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCC&I), Kerala, Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru, Tumakuru District Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TDCCI), Tumakuru. The distinguished speaker on the occasion was Shri Amar Kumar Sinha, I.R.S., Additional Director General, Directorate General of Taxpayer Services, Bengaluru Zonal Unit. Speakers from Chambers also spoke on the topic. The vote of thanks was rendered by CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Chairman, GST sub-committee of KCCI.

27-09-2024 4.00 p. m. 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu addressed the members.
6.00 p. m. Shri Anand G. Pai was elected as the new President of KCCI at the conclusion of 84th Annual General Meeting (‘AGM’) of the Members of KCCI. Shri Anand G. Pai is the Executive Director of M/s Bharath Beedi Works Private Limited, Mangalore. He started his Professional career through his family business and took charge of Strategic Planning and Diversification of Bharath Group. He completed schooling in Mangalore. He graduated as Industrial Production Engineer from Andrews University Michigan, U.S.A. and later pursued Masters in Software Engineering from the same University.

Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar was elected as the Vice-President, CA Abdur Rahman Musba as the Honorary Treasurer, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Padmanabha Pai were elected as Honorary Secretaries. Shri B. A. Nazeer, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Shri Amith Ramachandra, Ms. M. Athmika Amin, Shri Ashith B. 01-10-2024 10.30 a. m. Delegates from Mangalore Bar Association (R.) called on KCCI President, Shri Anand G Pai at the Conference Room of KCCI and submitted a memorandum seeking KCCI support for setting up of the Bangalore High Court bench in Mangaluru, a long awaited need of the litigants of Mangaluru and other coastal region. Congress MLC, Shri Ivan D’Souza accompanied by the Mangalore Bar Association President, Shri H.V. Raghavendra felicitated Shri Anand G Pai on taking over as the new President of KCCI. KCCI Vice-President, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Hon. Secretaries, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Shri Aditya Pai, Chairman of KCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution, Sub-committee of KCCI, Prof. CA Lionel Aranha and Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A were present at the meeting. Mangaluru City Corporation organized a stakeholders Consultation workshop on Hydro-Meteorological Resilience Action Plan (HmRAP) at Mangala Sabhangana, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru. The Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur and Commissioner of Mangaluru City Corporation, Shri C. L. Anand addressed the members present in the meeting. 06-07-2024 6.00 p. m. Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) held their 116th Annual General Function at Cidade de Goa Horizon, Dona Paula. The Chief Guest on the occasion was the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant. 4.30 p. m. The Fourth Meeting of the Board of Directors of KCCI for the financial year 2024-25 and the Tenth Meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Boardroom of KCCI. CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
11-07-2024 10.00 a. m. A workshop on the implementation of ban on single-use plastic was organized by the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSP-CB) and Environmental Management and Policy Research Institute (EMPRI) at Mangala Auditorium, Mangaluru City Corporation, Mangaluru. The workshop was inaugurated by Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Sudheer Shetty Kannur. The workshop was conducted by Senior Environment Officer, Ms. Vijaya Hegde, Environment Officer, Shri Mahendra DP, Environment expert, Shri B. N. Prakash. KCCI was represented by its Director, Shri B. A. Nazeer.
5.30 p. m. Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru branch, organized a session on Navigating Working Capital Dynamics, at Hotel Avatar, Mangaluru. CII Mangaluru District Council Chairman, Shri Ajith Kamath delivered the welcome address. 5.00 p. m. Southern Railway, Palakkad, conducted an introductory meeting of the newly formed Railway Station Consultative Committee at the longue of Mangaluru Central Railway Station. The meeting was chaired by Shri Narayana Naik, Deputy Station Manager, Commercial, Mangaluru Central Railway station. Convener of the meeting was Shri P. K. Ajit Kumar, Station Manager, Mangaluru Central railway station. KCCI was represented by its President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and the Past President of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor.
17-07-2024 11.00 a. m. KCCI President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu submitted a memorandum to the Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna at Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat Office, Mangaluru. Member of Parliament of Dakshina Kannada, Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, Shri Mullai Muhilan and senior railway officials were present on the occasion. Others who attended the meeting were the Hon. Secretaries of KCCI, Shri P.B. 19-07-2024 11.30 a. m. Mangalore Special Economic Zone Ltd. (MSEZL) conducted its 80th Board Meeting at their Conference Room. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman and also the Director (Finance) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). KCCI was represented by its President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu.
20-07-2024 12 noon Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament, chaired a meeting at the Conference room of Deputy Commissioner’s office to review highway issues of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI). KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu had submitted a memorandum to Capt. Brijesh Chowta the previous day to immediately look into the issues with regard to the blockade of Mangaluru – Bengaluru road connectivity at Shiradi and Sampaje Ghats. Shri Mullai Muhilan, Deputy Commissioner, Shri D. Vedavyasa Kamath, Mangaluru South MLA, Shri Anupam Agrawal, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru also spoke on the occasion. KCCI Past President and Chairman of Railways sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Rammohan Pai Maroor attended this meeting.
2.15 p. m. Infosys hosted the Board of KCCI at its campus in Mudipu, Mangaluru. Infosys Vice-President and Head – Delivery Risk Management, Shri Vasudev Kamath welcomed the delegates from KCCI and spoke about Infosys campus in Mangaluru and took us around the campus facilities. KCCI also held its meeting at the campus to discuss renovating the KCCI Meeting Hall and other areas of the building. Ar. Niren Jain presented the plan. The meeting was attended by KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. Secretaries, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor, Directors, Shri B.A. Nazir, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Shri Aditya Pai, Shri Vincent Cutinha and Shri Sujir Nayak. KCCI President along with the Board planted a sapling at the Infosys campus.
4.15 p. m. Shri Ahmed Bawa, KCCI representative of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) attended the meeting called by Capt. Brijesh Chowta, Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament at Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mangaluru to discuss the issues pertaining to railway facilities and services offered to traveling people and those affecting trade and commerce. KCCI President had earlier submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of State for Railways, Shri V. Somanna during his visit to Mangaluru. The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner of Mangaluru, Shri Mullai Muhilan. Representatives of various trade associations were also present.
24-07-2024 6.00 p. m A meeting on Dakshina Kannada Skill Development Mission was called by the CEO of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat, Dr. Anand K at NIC Hall at their premises. KCCI organized a session on New Criminal Laws, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA) at the KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. The Chief Guest on the occasion was Shri Anupam Agrawal IPS, Police Commissioner, Mangaluru. The Resource Person was Shri K. Pritviraj Rai, Advocate and Immediate Past President of Mangalore Bar Association. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu presented the welcome address. 30-07-2024 12 noon Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) organized the Post Union Budget 2024-25 National Conference, Journey towards Viksit Bharat at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi. Various associations across India participated in the event through a virtual platform. Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi was the Chief Guest who addressed the gathering. Minister for Commerce & Industry, Shri Piyush Goyal was the Guest of Honour at the event. Finance Minister, Smt. Niramala Sitaraman and other Ministers were also present on the occasion. The STF, a Global Trade Association, convened the session to address forced labour and illegal fishing within Shrimp and Tuna Supply Chains. During the session, STF outlined its objectives and work details. Shri Nissar actively engaged in the discussions.

Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between KCCI and Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur, at the President’s Chamber of KCCI as part of Industry-Academia Interconnect. The MoU was exchanged between KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and Director, MBA Program, Vivekananda College,  Dr. Robin Manohar Shinde. 14-03-2024 3.30 p. m. KCCI organized a Workshop on Unlocking Business Potential – A tailored Business Workshop at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Business owners and Finance Heads of various organizations attended the session. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu delivered the welcome address. KCCI Vice-President, Shri Anand G. Pai introduced the speakers to the audience. Speakers for the event were Shri Pugal T., Senior Consultant, Tally Solutions who spoke on ‘Skyrocketing your business to the next level’, Shri Sushant Shetty, SVP & Head, Channel Liabilities, DBS Bank India spoke on ‘Discourse by DBS’ and Shri Shreyas Bharadwaj, Account Director – ESMB – South India, Sales Force addressed the gathering on ‘Discourse by Sales Force’. 18-03-2024 9.00 a. m. St Aloysius (deemed to be University) in collaboration with Indian Science Technology and Engineering facilities Map (I-STEM) organised “Samavesha 2024” – Uniting Minds and Igniting Innovations. The inaugural ceremony was held at Fr L.F. Rasquinha Hall, LCRI Block was presided over by Rev. Dr Praveen Martis SJ. Shri Adeeth Kalbavi, Managing Director of Kalbavi Consumer Foods Pvt. Ltd. was the Guest of Honour. The Chief Guest, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Immediate Past President of KCCI delivered the keynote speech and highlighted the role of technology in innovation.  There were enlightening sessions by various speakers.
19-03-2024 10.00 a. m. Members of Red Chilli traders called on KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and briefed him about the problems faced by them from railways in transporting their goods to various destinations. They submitted memorandum to KCCI President and requested to take up the matter with the railway departments. KCCI had written letters to railway authorities seeking immediate action for the smooth functioning of trade activities.
20-03-2024 4.30 p. m. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mangaluru and Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Panaji, Goa at GCCI. The MoU was exchanged between the Presidents of both the Chambers, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and Shri Shrinivas V. Dempo respectively. Others present on the occasion from KCCI were Vice-President, Shri Anand G Pai, Hon. 23-03-2024 3.00 p. m. KCCI held its valedictory ceremony on the successful completion of 27 hours of 1st Batch of Comprehensive GST Training Program held from 23rd February, 2024 to 23rd March, 2024 at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. Accounting professionals from various companies and job seekers actively participated in large numbers for the training. All the trainers were Chartered Accountants with extensive knowledge and experience in various fields. A practical session on Tally was also conducted at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) lab in Mangaluru. KCCI President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu congratulated all the participants on successfully completing the training program. Chairman of the GST sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava Ballakuraya re-iterated some of the challenges faced in GST related works with case studies and suggested suitable remedies. All the participants were presented with the certificates. CA Sabana and CA Shraddha Sanghvi, present on the occasion, addressed the participants. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was one of the speakers on the occasion who spoke on Challenges of Fish Feed Industry.
