06-06-2023 – 3.30 p. m. – The Yenepoya Institute of Arts, Science, Commerce and Management organized YENIXA – Unlesh the Potential 2023, an intercollegiate Science and Management Fest at their Balmatta and Kulur campuses. KCCI Director and Incharge of Industry-Academia Interconnect, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar was the Chief Guest at their valedictory programme at Balmatta campus. The event was presided by Dr. Arun A Bhagwath, Principal & Dean, Faculty of Science. Also present were Shri Narayan Sukumar A., Vice Principal and Ms. Vijitha V., Staff Coordinator.
07-06-2023 – 9.30 a. m. – World Food Safety Day – 2023 workshop on Understanding Food Safety Standards was held at The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. Dr. Debabrata Kanungo, Ex-Chairman, FSSAI Scientific Panel spoke on Standards for food additives, contaminants and pesticides and Dr. Iddya Karunasagar, Ex-Chairman, FSSAI Scientific Panel spoke on Microbiological Standards in Foods. The event was jointly organized by NITTE, KCCI, CII and FSSAI. KCCI Vice-President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu attended the event.
12 noon – Third meeting of the Members’ day sub-committee of KCCI for the year 2022-23 was held at the conference room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Convener of Members’ Day and Vice-President of KCCI, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu. The meeting was attended by the KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Hon. Secretaries of KCCI, Shri B.A.Nazeer and Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Past President of KCCI, Smt. Ahmed Mudassar, Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor and Women Sub-committee Chairperson of KCCI, Ms. Rahasya Pai Maroor.
08-06-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – St. Aloysius Institute of Management and IT (AIMIT), Department of MBA organized Entrepreneurship Development Programme – 2023 in association with PRIME TECH MEA at their Arthur Shenoy memorial auditorium. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was the Chief Guest on the occasion who presented his inaugural address. KCCI Past President, Smt. Vathika Pai who was one of the speakers on the occasion spoke on the journey of a successful entrepreneur, family entrepreneurship and women entrepreneurship. Many dignitaries from the college and other speakers were present on the occasion.
09-06-2023 – 3.00 p. m. – Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Govt. of India (GoI) organized a webinar on Sustainability of Fish Meal Industry and the Livelihoods of Fishermen as part of Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav. The welcome and opening remark was given by Shri Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (IF), Dept. of Fisheries, GoI. Keynote address was presented by Shri J.N. Swain, IAS, Secretary, Dept. of Fisheries, GoI. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed was one of the speakers who spoke on the topic, ‘Overview of Fish Meal Industry in India’.
11-06-2023 – 9.00 a. m. – KMC Hospital, Mangaluru in association with Evolve, Mangaluru conducted Blood Donation Camp at Loyola Hall, St. Aloysius P.U College, Mangaluru. The event was supported by Mangalore Runners Club, Kanara Industries Association, Hotel Janatha Deluxe, KCCI and BNI Mangalore. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu and Past President, Smt. Vathika Pai was present on the occasion.
12-06-2023 – 10.30 a. m. – A legal awareness programme on International Anti Child Labour day was organized by Govt. of Karnataka at Netravathi Hall, Dakshina Kannada Jilla Panchayat, Mangaluru. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the event.
14-06-2023 – 9.00 a. m. – Fourth meeting of the Members’ day sub-committee of KCCI for the year 2022-23 was held at the conference room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the Convener of Members’ Day and Vice-President of KCCI, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu. The meeting was attended by the KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Past President of KCCI, Smt. 17-06-2023 – 6.30 p. m. – KCCI Conclave 2023 was held at Dr. T.M.A Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath welcomed the guests to the event. The Past Presidents of KCCI were felicitated during this event. Shri Harish Bijoor, CEO, Harish Bijoor Consults Inc, Bengaluru was the Speaker on this occasion who addressed the gathering on the importance of branding. He was introduced by Vice-President and Convenor of the Conclave Shri Ananthesh V. Prabhu. The event was compered by the Past President of KCCI, Smt. Vathika Pai and the Director of KCCI, Ms. Athmika Amin. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar.
19-06-2023 – 7.00 p. m. – Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India (CREDAI), Mangalore organized an Installation Ceremony of Shri Vinod A. R. Pinto as President CREDAI Mangalore 2023-25 along with a team of Office Bearers at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. Chief Guests on the occasion were Shri U T Khader, Hon’ble Speaker of Legislative Assembly and Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Hon’ble Member of Parliament. Other Guests of Honour were Shri Jayanand Anchan, Worshipful Mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation, Shri Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South, Dr. Y. 21-06-2023 – 4.30 p. m. – The Third Meeting of the Board of KCCI for the financial year 2023-24 and the Ninth Meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Board Room of KCCI. Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
22-06-2023 – 5.30 p. m. – KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath called on the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP at DC’s office, Mangaluru. KCCI President briefed about the chamber activities and also submitted a memorandum to him on recent power hikes. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed were also present.
23-06-2023 – 9.00 a. m. – KCCI attended the meeting called by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Karnataka and District In-charge Minister, Shri Dinesh Gundu Rao at Hotel Vivanta, Mangaluru. Various trade bodies and other associations were part of the meeting. KCCI President, Shri M.Ganesh Kamath briefed the Minister about various issues faced by the district and handed over a memorandum to him. Others who represented KCCI were Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba, Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Director, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequiera and Past President, Shri Isaac Vas. Speaker of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, Shri U. T. Khader, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP, Vice President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and former MLC, Shri Ivan D’Souza, were also present in the meeting.
26-06-2023 – 5.00 p. m. – SDM College of Business Management Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research, Mangalore had their annual day celebration, ‘Sanketah 2023” at their auditorium. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was the Chief Guest on this occasion. MLA, Mangaluru City, South, Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath was the Guest of Honour. The Alumni Chief Guest on this occasion was Shri Ashray P. Bhandary, Director, Bhandary School Book Pvt. Ltd.
27-06-2023 – 4.00 p. m. – KCCI had an interactive session with the officials of Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath presented his welcome address. Shri Vikram Falodiya, Head Terminal and Business Development, MIA addressed the members on the airport services for passengers and also EXIM related cargo services. KCCI put forth various suggestions for the betterment of services by the airport officials. Members of KCCI who were present also expressed their concerns on the airport services. KCCI Vice- President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, Hon Secretaries, Shri B.A Nazeer and Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and other Directors of KCCI were present on the occasion. Other officials from the airport present were, Shri J Naik, Lead Cargo and Shri Henry Fernandes, Head (Commercial), MIA.
30-06-2023 – 11.30 a. m. – KCCI Office Assistant, Shri Ashok Kumar who rendered 36 years of service at KCCI was given a farewell send off on his retirement day at the KCCI Meeting Hall. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath congratulated on his dedicated service to the organization. KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu also spoke on this occasion. Present on the occasion were KCCI Directors, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, CA Nandagopal Shenoy, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Shri Anand Pai, Shri Jeethan Sequiera, Shri Amit Ramachandra and Past Presidents Shri Ram Mohan Pai Maroor, Smt. Vathika Pai, Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, Shri G. G. Mohandas Prabhu and staff members of KCCI. Shri Ahmed Bava, Past Treasurer of KCCI also expressed his best wishes to the outgoing retired staff. The vote of thanks was rendered by the Hon. 3.00 p. m. – The Inauguration of the Students’ Council of St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru, was held at their Loyola Hall. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was the Chief Guest on this occasion. Rector of St. Aloysius Institutions, Rev. Fr. Melwin Pinto SJ presided over.
04-07-2023 – 3.00 p. m. – Members of the Editorial board met with the officials of Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) at airport premises. The meeting was chaired by Shri Mukesh Nankani, Chief Airport Officer, MIA. The airport officials expressed their interest collaborating with KCCI and other trade bodies in improving the infrastructure of the airport and flow of passengers into the city. KCCI was represented by Members of the Editorial board – Director and Editor, Ms. Athmika Amin, Director and Associate Editor, Shri Aditya Pai, Past President Smt. Vathika Pai and Ms. Ashrika Amin. Other officials from the airport were, Shri Henry Fernandes (Head Commercial), Shri Vipin Nair (Head -HR), Shri Srikanth Tata (Head – Operation) and Shri Jagannath (Manager -Cargo).
07-07-2023 – 11.00 a. m. – Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Regional Office, Mangaluru and New Mangaluru Port Authority conducted Environmental Public Hearing in respect of proposed development of Multipurpose Cargo Berth (Berth No. 17) in the existing NMPA premises, Panambur village, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP at the Meeting Hall of DC office, Mangaluru. KCCI Directors, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira and Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar attended the meeting.

14-07-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Karnataka organized Ports Conference 2023 – “PORTs – Backbone of Indian Economy and Athmanirbhar Bharat” at Hotel Vivanta, Mangaluru. CII Karnataka State Council President, Shri Vijaykrishnan Venkateshan, CII Mangalore Chapter Chairman, Shri Praveen Kalbhavi, Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Inland Water Transport, Shri Mankal Vaidya, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, Shri Mullai Muhilan MP, New Mangalore Port Authority Chairman, Shri Venkata Ramana Akkaraju and other dignitaries were present on stage. KCCI Director Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Director and Chairman of EXIM Cell of KCCI, Shri Jeethen Sequiera and Director, Shri Amit Ramachandra attended the event.
4.00 p. m. – KCCI organized an interactive session on Employer Based Commute Incentive Toolkit – a key step towards promoting sustainable transport in Mangaluru, a study initiated by Directorate of Urban Land Transport (DULT) and Urban Development Department, Govt. of Karnataka. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath delivered the Welcome address. The session was addressed by Ar. Niren Jain, Architect and Environmental Planner and Ar. Kumar Gaurav, Assistant Prof., Manipal School of Architecture and Planning and an Urban Planner. KCCI Director Shri P. B. Ahmed Mudassar introduced the speakers to the members. Other Directors of KCCI, Shri Amit Ramachandra, Shri Anand Pai, Shri Vincent Cutina and Shri Ashwin Pai Maroor were also present. Members of KCCI and other trade bodies were also present. 26-04-2023 – 9.30 a. m. – The Second Meeting of the Editorial Board Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2022-23 was conducted at The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Editor of the KCCI Journal, Ms. Athmika Amin. Present in the meeting was Shri Aditya Pai, Associate Editor and other members Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar, Hon. Secretary, KCCI, Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President, KCCI, CA Salome Lobo Pereira and Shri Sourabh Nahata.
4.30 p. m. – The First Meeting of the Board of KCCI for the financial year 2023-24 and the Seventh Meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Board Room of KCCI. Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
28-04-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – KCCI organized a seminar on the ‘Importance of Documentation in Exports & Imports and New Foreign Trade Policy 2023’ at the KCCI Meeting Hall. The speakers for the seminar were Shri Ajit Shah and Shri Mihir Ajit Shah, Consultant, Advisor & Trainer in International Business, Universal Connections, Mumbai. The seminar had the audience of exporters, importers, Custom Housing Agents (CHAs), Chartered Accountants and Tax consultants. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath delivered the Welcome address. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba introduced the speakers to the audience. KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar rendered the vote of thanks. 29-04-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – KCCI started the first monthly Startup Clinic at the conference room of KCCI. Participants who had earlier attended the Start-up Mangaluru event organized by KCCI were invited. KCCI President, Shri M.Ganesh Kamath welcomed and congratulated all the start-ups for attending the meet and extended KCCI support in their journey. KCCI Start-up subcommittee Chairperson, Shri Vishwas Shishir briefed the significance of this monthly meet and way forward and addressed the concerns and suggestions from the members. KCCI Start-up subcommittee member, Shri Karthik Attavar was also present who also guided the members present in the meet.

19-05-2023 – 4.00 p. m. – Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) jointly with Kodagu District Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KDCCI) hosted an exclusive session on Sustainable Tourism coinciding with the meeting of the 10th Managing Committee of BCIC at Windflower Resorts, Madikeri. 01-06-2023 – 12 noon – The second meeting of the Shipping and Port Relation Sub-committee of KCCI for the year 2022-23 was held at the conference room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by KCCI Director and Chairman of the EXIM trade of KCCI, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira. 15-03-2023 – 4.30 p. m. – The Twelfth Meeting of the Board of KCCI for the financial year 2022-23 and the Sixth meeting of the present committee of KCCI was held at the Board room of KCCI. Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI chaired the meeting in the presence of other Office Bearers, Directors and special invitees.
17-03-2023 – 4.30 p. m. – KCCI Vice President CA Ananthesh V Prabhu met the Mayor of Mangaluru, Shri Jayanand Anchan and Im. Past Mayor, Shri Premananda Shetty at Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) and submitted the copies of memorandums submitted earlier to the present Mayor and also the Im. Past Commissioner of MCC, Shri Akshy Sridhar on Solid Waste Management Cess and other issues to be looked into on priority. Also present were Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Past President of KCCI, Shri Isaac Vas.
19-03-2023 – 2.30 p. m. – Union Minister of State for Tourism and Ports and Shipping and Waterways, Shri Shripad Naik called on KCCI Office Bearers at The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri Ganesh M. Kamath submitted the suggestions for Election Manifesto to the Bharatiya Janatha Party on this occasion. KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu and KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was also present.
24-03-2023 – 10.30 a. m. – The department of Commerce (Professional) of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized Professional Day, the valedictory ceremony of Eccelenza 2023, Momentum of Excellence at their Eric Mathias Hall. Chief Guests on the occasion were Dr. Nilanjan Chattopadhyay, Dean, School of Management, Bennett University, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI, CA Ananth Shenoy, Chartered Financial Analyst. Rev. Dr. Praveen Martis S.J, Principal, St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru, Dr. Denis Fernandes, Director, Arrupe Block, Dr. Manual Tauro, Dean, Faculty of Commerce, Dr. Zeena Flavia D’Souza, HoD, B.com (Professional), Dr. Swathi Bhat, Staff Coordinator, Ms. Rouchelle Tauro, Co-convener and Shri Moideen Adnan, Student Convenor were also present on stage.
    4.00 p. m. – Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha & BJP National Spokesperson called on KCCI Office Bearers along with other Board of Directors and Chairman of subcommittees of KCCI at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath presented his welcome address and briefed Dr. Trivedi about chamber activities and also apprised him about various issues and submitted the memorandum to him. Dr. Sudhanshu Trivedi addressed the gathering. Present on stage were KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, KCCI Hon. Secretary, Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Former Member of Karnataka Legislative council, Capt. Ganesh Karnik. The vote of thanks was rendered by Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar. KCCI Im. 06-04-2023 – 4.00 p. m. – KCCI organized an interactive session on ‘Career Opportunities in the Department of Post (Govt. of India)’ by Shri Shriharsha, Senior Superintendent of Post (Indian Postal Service), Mangaluru division for the colleges having MoUs with KCCI. College Principals, Placement Officers, Dept. HoDs and students attended the session. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath welcomed the gathering. KCCI Director and In-charge of Industry Academia Interconnect, Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar briefed about the KCCI activities towards the colleges. KCCI Hon. 27-01-2023 – 10.30 a. m. – Preparatory Meeting was conducted by District Industries Centre, Mangaluru to discuss about the Union Govt.’s initiative on District as Export Hubs to promote exports from the district. The meeting was held at the conference hall of Kanara Industries Association (KIA), Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Gokuldas Naik, Joint Director, District Industries Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI Director, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira attended the meeting.
01-02-2023 – 10.45 a. m. – The Second Meeting of the Income Tax Sub-Committee of KCCI for the year 2022-23 was convened at the Conference Room of KCCI to discuss about the implication of Union Budget 2023 on trade and commerce. The meeting was chaired by CA Prasanna Shenoy, Chairman of Income Tax Sub-committee of KCCI. Others present were KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Vice-President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, and other members of the committee, CA B. Chandrakanth Rao, CA Gautham Nayak and CA Sriram Rao.
    4.00 p. m. – Ubuntu, Consortium of Women Entrepreneurs Associations, Bengaluru organized E-commerce & Digital Marketing Training Program for Women Entrepreneurs at Ajanta Business Centre, Mangaluru. 06-02-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – The Governing Body meeting of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Learning (CEOL) for the year 2022-23 was held at the Conference Hall of CEOL, Mangaluru. 08-02-2023 – 9.00 a. m. – Post Graduate Department of Business Administration of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Institute of Management and IT – AIMIT organized, ‘Insignia 2023’ at their Authur Shenoi Auditorium. KCCI Director, Shri Amith Ramachandra was the Guest of Honour at the event. Rev. Fr. Praveen Martis SJ, Principal, St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Dr. Fr. Melwyn Pinto SJ, Director, AIMIT and other dignitaries from the college were also present on the occasion.
    10.30 a. m. – Post Forum Meeting was conducted by the Office of Senior Post Master, India Post at HPO premises, Mangaluru. KCCI nominated member for Postal Consultative Forum, Mangaluru division, Shri K. Surendra Prabhu attended the meeting.
    8.00 p. m. – KCCI Board of Directors had a roundtable meeting with the Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant at Central Hall, World Konkani Centre, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath apprised the Chief Minister about the opportunities for Goa-Mangaluru connect through trade and commerce and to influence upon the Central government on introducing Vande Bharat trains between Mangaluru, Madgaon and Mumbai, direct flight connectivity, cruise tourism, medical tourism etc. He also presented the memorandum to him. Smt. Vathika Pai, Past President, KCCI hosted the event. President of Vishwa Konkani Kendra and Director KCCI Shri Nandagopal Shenoy presided over the meeting.
09-02-2023 – 11.00 a. m. – 161st meeting of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) (third meeting of the present committee) of Palakkad division was held at ‘Valluvanad’ Meeting Hall, DRM office, Palakkad. KCCI nominated member for DRUCC, Shri M. Ahmed Bawa attended the meeting.
11-02-2023 – 10.30 a. m. – KCCI in association with International Federation of Investors’ Associations (IFIA) organized a session on Startup Mangaluru at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath presented the welcome address. KCCI Startup Sub-committee Chairman, Shri Vishwas Uchila Shishir briefed the audience about the topic. KCCI Vice-President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu introduced the speakers to the audience. Dr. Inv. Shivakiran Makam, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre, Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Ananthpur (AP) spoke on the topic, ‘Government Grants for Startups in India in various sectors’. Shri Anand Kanan, Director, Global Services, IFIA addressed on, ‘Presentation of IFIA on International Collaboration and Other Services’. Dr. Madhukar S M, CEO, Innaumation Medical Devices Pvt. Ltd. spoke on the topic, ‘Grants and Government Funding, Case Study’. KCCI Directors, members of KCCI, startup entrepreneurs, incubation heads and students attended the event. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by the Hon. Secretary of KCCI, Shri B.A. Nazeer. IDFC First Bank was the event partner. 13-02-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cell of St. Aloysius College (Autonomous), Mangaluru organized, ‘Impetus 2023’ (Stimulus to Innovate) at their LF Rasquinha Hall. KCCI Startup Sub-committee Chairman, Shri Vishwas Shishir was one of the speakers for the panel discussion on ‘Symposium of Innovation and Entrepreneurship’. The Chief Guest and key note speaker was Dr. Smitha Hegde, Professor, Nitte University Centre for Science, Education and Research, Derlakatte, Mangaluru. Ms. Preeti Nayak, Founder, Joos Botal and Shri Mithun Bhat Kakunje, Entrepreneur, Mangaluru was the other Guest Speakers for the panel discussion.

KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath presented the welcome address. Shri Pugal T, Senior Consultant, Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Bengaluru was the trainer at the event. Others present were KCCI Hon. 15-02-2023 – 3.30 p. m. – Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprise (MSME), Branch MSME Development & Facilitation Office, Industrial Estate, Mangaluru in association with District Industries Centre (DIC), Dakshina Kannada and KCCI organized, National Seminar on MSME – the way forward – Strategic Approach for Development of MSMEs at The Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru. The event was presided by Shri G R Akadas IEDS, Director, MSME DFO, Bengaluru. The Guests of Honour for the event were Shri Gokuldas Nayak, Joint Director, DIC, DK Dist., and Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI, Mangaluru who addressed the gathering. KCCI Director and incharge for the KCCI Focus Area for MSME, Shri Anand G Pai also spoke on the occasion. Also present were Smt. Sruthi G K., Assistant Director, Br. MSME DFO, Mangaluru and Shri Devaraj K., IEDS, Joint Director, Br. MSME DFO, Mangaluru. KCCI Office Bearers and Directors attended the event. 17-02-2023 – 10.00 a. m. – Public Hearing of Mangalore Electricity Supply Company (MESCOM) tariff was held at the conference room of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mangaluru. P. Ravi Kumar, Chairman of Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), Shri H. M. Ravi, Member and Shri H.M. Manjunath, Members of KERC were also present. KCCI was represented by its Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba and Hon. Secretary, Shri B. A. Nazeer.
    3.30 p. m. – Principal Chief Commissioner CGST, Bengaluru, Smt. Ranjana Jha had an interactive meeting with the trade, KCCI representatives and managing committee members of Mangalore Branch of SIRC of ICAI of Commissionerate at GST Seva Kendra, Attavar, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by its GST Sub-committee Chairman, CA Keshava N Ballakuraya, Director Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Income Tax Sub-committee Chairman of KCCI, CA Prasanna Shenoy and Past Treasurer of KCCI, Sri M. Ganesh Bhat.

24-02-2023 – 2.00 p. m. – Dr. Ronald Colaco, a businessman and philanthropist who was recently awarded with a certificate of excellence from World Book of Records, London, in recognition of his social service and charitable works, was given a civic honour at Fr. Muller Convention Centre, Pumpwell, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath congratulated him on this occasion. 27-02-2023 – 10.30 a. m. – Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), Regional Office, Mangaluru in collaboration with KCCI organized ‘EPFO with you – Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0, District Outreach Program’ at KCCI Meeting Hall, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath presented the Welcome address. Shri K Vishwanath Shetty, Regional Committee member of EPFO (Karnataka), Shri A.P Unnikrishnaan, Regional PF Commissioner – I, Shri Sandeep Kumar, Regional PF Commissioner – II and Shri Guruwinder Singh, Deputy Director, ESIC, Sub Division office, Mangaluru addressed the gathering on PF services and also answered the queries. Also present on stage was KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu. KCCI Director Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed among others attended. 04-03-2023 – 11.00 a. m. – Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management (MSNIM) – NITTE, Mangaluru organized Entrepreneurs’ Day, Ignite 2023 at The Ocean Pearl, Kodialbail, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M.Ganesh Kamath participated in the panel discussion on the topic, ‘Road Map for Development of Entrepreneurship in Mangaluru.’ KCCI Director, Ms. Athmika Amin participated in the panel discussion on the topic, Evolving Eco Systems for Start-ups in Mangaluru’ which was moderated by KCCI Past President, Smt. Vathika Pai.
    11.00 a. m. – KCCI arranged an industrial visit at Deccan Plast Industries, Mudipu, Mangaluru for the Dept. of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) students of Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangaluru and the MBA students of University College, Mangaluru.
    3.30p. m. – The third meeting of the Meeting of the KCCI for Startups for the year 2022-23 was convened at the conference room of KCCI. 16-12-2022 – 2.30 p. m. – Interactive meeting on First International Cultural Jamboree at Moodabidri with Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath, MLA, Mangaluru South was jointly organized by KCCI and KIA at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath delivered the welcome address. MLA, Shri D. Vedavyas Kamath addressed the gathering and invited all the members with their families for the event and also appealed to them to donate by cash or kind for the event. B. Nagaraja Shetty, Ex- Minister, GoK also addressed the members on the event and sought generous sponsorship. Group discussion on ‘Women and Entrepreneurship’ had many Women participants. Smt. Vathika Pai, past President, KCCI was one of the panellists in the discussion.

Other distinguished guests were Dr. E.V. 16-11-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – Preparatory meeting on the International Cultural Jamboree, hosted by the Bharat Scouts and Guides, Karnataka State to be held at Alva’s Education Institution, Vidyagiri, Moodabidri from 21st to 27th December was organized at Scouts Bhavan, Mangaluru. 21-11-2022 – 7.00 a. m. – 120th Birth Anniversary of Late Shri Ullal Shrinivas Mallya was observed at the Ullal Shrinivas Mallya Circle, Padil, Mangaluru, by garlanding the bust of the stalwart installed by World Konkani Centre in association with Nitte University. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Hon. Secretary Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar and Director CA Nandagopal Shenoy garlanded the bust among other dignitaries present.
9.30 a. m. – The opening ceremony of the Corporate Office of Mangala Resource Management Pvt. Ltd. was held at Rama Bhavan Complex, Kodialbail, Mangaluru. An eco-startup born out of volunteerism involved in the Ramakrishna Mission Swacch Mangaluru Abhiyan four years ago, the objective is to institutionalize the experience gained from the Abhiyan and put efforts into organizing the waste management sector. KCCI President Shri M Ganesh Kamath was one of the special invitees on the occasion.
23-11-2022 – 7.00 p. m. – Puttur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) invited KCCI for an interactive meeting between two chambers. The meeting was held at Puttur Club, Mareel, Puttur. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Office Bearers and Directors of the Board attended. Puttur Chamber President Shri John Cutinha delivered the welcome address. Committee Member, Shri Surendra Kini briefed about the Puttur Chamber. Vice-President of Puttur Chamber introduced the KCCI guests to the Board members. KCCI President addressed the Puttur Chamber. Important issues pertaining to the region were discussed. Closing remarks were rendered by Puttur Chamber President, Shri John Cutinha. Vote of thanks was given by Vice-President, PCCI, Shri M. 24-11-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – The Commercial Tax Department of Mangaluru conducted their second Consultative Committee meeting at KCCI Meeting Hall to discuss about the action taken on grievances received in the last meeting and to know any other concerns. The meeting was chaired by Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner – Administration, Directorate of Goods and Services Tax (DGST). Dr. Kumar Nayak G., Joint Commissioner – Enforcement was also present. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath welcomed the guests and members from various trade bodies who attended the meeting. KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu, KCCI Hon. The second episode of this series titled “Technology Transfer in Food Industry & Building Your Brand” and Build your Brand by Vintegra Phygital – Vertebrand was organized in association with, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Young Indians (Yi), BNI, District Small Industries Association (DSIA) and Evolve. The event was held at KIA Hall, Baikampady, Mangaluru. KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Vice-President CA Ananthesh V. Prabhu, Director Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Director Ms. Athmika Amin, and Chief Operating Officer Shri Mytreya A were present at the event. The Chief Guest for this event was Shri Imamuddin Ahmad I.R.S., Commissioner of CE&CT (GST), Mangaluru. After the KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath welcomed the chief guest, he was introduced to the audience by KCCI Vice President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu. KCCI GST Sub-committee Chairperson, CA Keshava Ballakuraya apprised the audience about the importance of the topics. The Chief Guest delivered his keynote address to the session. Shri Sooryanarayana Rao, Superintendent of Central Tax, Bunder & Pandeshwar Range of Mangaluru South Division spoke on the topic, ‘Recent Changes in GST Laws’, Shri K. Ganesh Kamath at KCCI Meeting Hall to discuss their project in Mangaluru aimed at upskilling and building capacity of experienced, blue-collared workforce, to help them place in new jobs in different industries as one of the Multinational companies is closing its operations in Mangaluru. They have requested KCCI to help placement of these skilled candidates in different industries across different sectors.
