16-09-2022 – 2.30 p. m. – Southern Railway, Palghat Division held their 159th meeting of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee (DRUCC) at Valluvanad Meeting Hall at Divisional Office, Palakkad. Shri M. Ahmed Bawa, representing KCCI as a nominated member of DRUCC partook in the meeting. Various suggestions were placed before the meeting pertaining to Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
2.30 p. m. – A Workshop on GST Departmental Audit and Annual Return was organized by KCCI at their Meeting Hall, Bunder, Mangaluru. Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner, Commercial Tax, Mangaluru was the Chief Guest who addressed the audience. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath delivered the Welcome Address. Other speakers were CA Coline O. Rodrigues who spoke on the topic, ‘GST Audit notices and how to respond to such notices’ and CA Vikas Shenoy on the topic, ‘Filing of Form 9 under GST – its importance and implications’. KCCI then Hon. Secretary Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed presented the vote of thanks.
19-09-2022 – 5.30 p. m. – The 1st Meeting of the Executive Committee of Centre for Entrepreneurship Opportunities and Learning (CEOL), D.K. Mangaluru for the year 2022-23 was convened at CEOL Conference Hall, Mallikatta, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Gokuldas Naik, Joint Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru and Member Secretary, CEOL. Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, the then President of KCCI attended the meeting.
24-09-2022 – 6.30 p. m. – Nitte-KBL MSME Business Excellence Awards 2022 was jointly organized by AIC Nitte Incubation Centre and Karnataka Bank at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Kodialbail, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by Shri Mahabaleshwara M.S., MD & CEO, Karnataka Bank. Chief Guests on the occasion were Shri Kishore Kumar Kodgi, President, Campco, Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, then President, KCCI, Shri Gokuldas Pai, Chief Business Officer, Karnataka Bank, Shri Ravindra Babu M., Field General Manager, Union Bank of India, FGM Office, Mangaluru, Shri Vinay Guptha, Network – DGM, Bank of Baroda, ZO Mangaluru, Shri Ashoka Thammayya, HR Director, Schneider Electric Industrial Services. 26-09-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – Launch of ‘Uncover the future of Pickups’ was organized by Tata Motors and Arvind Motors at AJ Grand Hotel, Mangaluru. KCCI then President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor attended the event.
4.30 p. m. – 82nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Members of KCCI was held at the Meeting Hall of KCCI with the participation of members. Outgoing President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor addressed the members.
28-09-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – A meeting was called by Joint Director, Shri Gokuldas Naik, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru to formulate the Concept Plan for Central Government’s scheme on “Districts as Export Hubs”. 7.00 p. m. – 46th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of District Small Industries Association Mangalore (DSIAM) was held at their DSIAM Auditorium, Industrial Estate, Yeyyadi, Mangaluru. KCCI Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A attended the meeting.
30-09-2022 – 5.30 p. m. – 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Kanara Industries Association (KIA) was held at their Hall, Baikampady, Mangaluru. Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, the new President of KCCI attended the meeting.
01-10-2022 – 9.30 a. m. – Two days Builders Industry Gathering Show – BIG Show India Exhibition was organized by ZMZ Events at TMA Pai International Convention Centre, Mangaluru. The event was inaugurated by Chairman of Yenepoya Group, Shri Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi. Shri Zaheer Ahmed, Managing Director and founder of ZMZ events welcomed the gathering. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was one of the Guests of Honour among other dignitaries on stage.
03-10-2022 – 2.00 p. m. – Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru called a meeting to discuss about the preparation of the Dakshina Kannada district’s Karavali Utsav 2022-23. The meeting was chaired by Shri V. Sunil Kumar, Minister of Kannada and Culture, Govt. of Karnataka. KCCI was represented by Director Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar.

08-10-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – IEEE MSS Mangalore Technology Conclave 2022 was held at St. Joseph Engineering College, Mangaluru. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath participated in the panel discussion on the topic, ‘Local Industry needs of IT & automation’.
10-10-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – The 16th City level Advisory Committee Meeting of Mangaluru Smart City Limited was held at the Court Hall of Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Shri Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Parliament, Dakshina Kannada District. Dr. Rajendra KV, Deputy Commissioner was also present. KCCI was represented by its President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath.
13-10-2022 – 10.30 a. m. & 11.00 a.m – District level Single Window committee and Kaigarika Spandana meeting was held at the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Dr. Rajendra K.V. Also present was Joint Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Mangaluru, Shri Gokuldas Naik. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath attended the meeting.

 – New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA) under the aegis of Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Govt. of India had the Virtual Inauguration (Lokarpan) and Foundation Stone Laying (Shilanyas) of various projects of New Mangalore Port and Mormugao Port by the Hon’ble Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways in the presence of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Goa at BDC Auditorium, NMPA. KCCI was represented by its Vice-President, CA Ananthesh V Prabhu.
5.00 p. m. – Road Safety Committee meeting was held at the Conference Room of Deputy Commissioner’s Office, Mangaluru. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Rajendra K.V., Deputy Commissioner, Dakshina Kannada District and President of District Road Safety Committee. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath attended the meeting.
14-10-2022 – 4.30 p. m. – KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath called on Ms. Shikha C., Commissioner for Commercial Taxes, Govt. of Karnataka during her visit to Department of Commercial Tax, Mangaluru. President apprised her about the Chamber activities and various seminars being conducted for its members on GST and other related topics. KCCI Director, Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed, Chairman of GST Sub-committee of KCCI, CA Keshava N. Ballukaraya, KCCI Past Treasurer, Shri Ganesh Bhat also briefed her on trade activities and various representations submitted to central and state governments. Ms. Shikha also extended support in educating the KCCI members on recent amendments on taxes etc from time to time. Ms. Meera Pandit, Joint Commissioner of Commercial Tax, Mangaluru, Shri Mytreya A, Chief Operating Officer of KCCI and other officials from commercial tax department were also present.
16-10-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – The Gowd Saraswat Brahman Seva Sangh (R) celebrated its 83rd Foundation Day Program at Sujir C.V. Nayak Hall, Mangaluru. Foundation Day Oration was delivered by Prof. Dr. M. Venkatraya Prabhu., Pro Vice Chancellor, Manipal University. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath was Guest of Honour at the event. Prof. Dr. Kasturi Mohan Pai, President G. Vishwanath Bhat, Hon. Treasurer, Dr. A. Ramesh Pai, Hon. Joint Secretary, Members of the Managing Board of the Gowd Saraswat Brahman Seva Sangh were also present.
17-10-2022 – 4.00 p. m. – Architects & Environmental Planners, Mangalore had their initial stakeholder meet to discuss about ‘Promoting Sustainable Travel Behaviour Through Employer – Based Commute Incentives’, a research based project funded by Government of Karnataka (GoK) and undertaken by Manipal School of Architecture and Planning (MSAP), Manipal, at the Lecture Hall 1 of KMC, Lighthouse Hill Road, Mangaluru. KCCI President Shri M.Ganesh Kamath and Director Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed attended the meeting.
18-10-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – Nitte University, DST- Technology Enabling Centre organized an Interactive discussion session on Food Industries on the occasion of World Food Day – 2022 at the Board Room, Nitte Institute of Architecture, Paneer Campus, Derlakatte, Mangaluru. The event was organized in partnership with KCCI, CII, MSME, MPEDA, Section Infin8. KCCI Vice President CA Ananthesh Prabhu and Director Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar participated in the panel discussion.
4.00 p. m – A meeting was called by Hon’ble Minister for Kannada and Culture, Shri V. Sunil Kumar to discuss about the participation and arrangements for the event, ‘Koti Kantha Gayana’, cultural songs of Karnataka to be sung across the state at 11am on 28th October, 2022 on the occasion of Karnataka Rajyotsava. The meeting was held at the Netravati Hall of Dakshina Kannada Jilla Panchayat, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.
19-10-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath called on Shri Imamuddin Ahmad, I.R.S, Commissioner, Central Excise and Central Tax, Mangaluru at his office in Trade Centre building, Mangaluru. The President briefed about various initiatives taken by the Chamber in addressing issues raised by members on GST by sending representatives to central and state governments and also about various seminars being conducted. 21-10-2022 		– 10.00 a. m. – New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA), Mormugao Port Authority and Cochin Port Authority organized PM Gati Shakti, Multimodal Maritime Summit – 2022, anchoring development at Port at the NMPA Business Development Centre, Panambur, Mangaluru. KCCI Director and Chairman of EXIM Cell Sub-committee of KCCI, Shri Jeethan Allen Sequeira moderated the session on the subject of road connectivity issues.
25-10-2022 – 4.00 p. m. – KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath met the outgoing Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Dr. Rajendra K V at the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Mangaluru. KCCI President congratulated the Deputy Commissioner for his contribution for the development of trade and commerce in the region. Others present on the occasion were Hon. Hon’ble Mayor, Mangaluru City Corporation, Shri Jayananda Anchan and other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
03-11-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – A meeting was called by the new Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada District, Shri Ravikumar M.R., at the Conference Hall of his office, Mangaluru, to discuss about the preparatory arrangements for Bharat Scouts and Guides International Jamboree event to be held at Moodabidri in December 2022. Various industry bodies attended the meeting. KCCI was represented by its Chief Operating Officer, Shri Mytreya A.
3.30 p. m. – KCCI organized a Felicitation & Interactive Session with the Hon’ble Mayor, Shri Jayananda Anchan, Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) who was the Chief Guest, at the Meeting Hall of KCCI. The Guests of Honour on the occasion were Smt. Poornima M., Hon’ble Dy. Mayor, MCC, Shri Premananda Shetty, Former Mayor, MCC, Shri Abdul Lateef, Corporator, Bunder Ward, MCC. KCCI President Shri M. 04-11-2022 – 2.00 p. m. – JSW Infrastructure, in association with India Seatrade and Federation of Indian Export Organizations, organized Cargo Connexions Conclave at The Ocean Pearl, Navbharat Circle, Mangaluru. Welcome address was given by Shri K. Mohandas, IAS (Retd), Chairman, India Seatrade. Keynote address was delivered by Shri N. Sivasailam, IAS (Retd), Former Special Secretary (Logistics). There were various business sessions. KCCI Hon. Treasurer, CA Abdur Rahman Musba was one of the panelists in the session, ‘Understanding the Paradox of High Logistics Costs and the Need to Improve Supply Chain Resilience’. 4.00 p. m. – Airports Authority of India (AAI), Mangaluru, organized Vigilance Awareness Week – 2022 at the Training Room of Mangaluru International Airport, Bajpe (Old Airport), Mangaluru. KCCI President was one of the invitees at the concluding ceremony of the event. The theme of the event was “Corruption–Free India for a Developed Nation”. KCCI President spoke on the occasion.
07-11-2022 – 4.30 p. m. – KCCI President, Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Office Bearers and Board of Directors called on Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (MP), on Monday, 7th November at his residential office at Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala. The President introduced all Office Bearers and Board of Directors to Dr. Heggade. Past President of KCCI Smt. Vathika Pai briefed Dr. Heggade about the role of KCCI in the development of trade and commerce of the region. Dr. Heggade was felicitated by the KCCI President and other Office Bearers. KCCI President also submitted a memorandum to Dr. Heggade on “Intervention towards completion of four-laning of National Highway 75 and strengthening of NH 275” and urged him to take them up with the Government of India, Ministry of Road, Transport & highways for giving highest priority towards the early completion of projects for ensuring seamless connectivity. 5.30 p. m. 		– ISAI MSME Yatra & MSME Sethu (75 days – 75 cities – 75 programmes) organized by Mangaluru Branch of SIRC of ICAI in association with Kanara Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KCCI), Kanara Industries Association (KIA), District Small Industries Association (DSIA), Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Mangaluru. The inaugural address was presented by Deputy Director, District Industries Centre (DIC), Shri Vivekananda G at DSIA Auditorium, Yeyyadi Industrial Area. Session on “Empowering of MSMEs by Financial Institutions” was conducted by the officials of SBI, SIDBI, NSIC. The flagging off of the bus yatra was done by KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath along with other dignitaries at Yeyyadi Industrial Area. The second session of the event was conducted at Kanara Industries Association (KIA) Auditorium. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath addressed the gathering by mentioning the role of MSMEs in generating employment and economic development of the nation. KIA and DSIA President CA Ananthesh Prabhu and Shri Vishan L. Salian also expressed the role of MSMEs and also the problems faced by them. Shri Devaraj K., Joint Director, MSME DFO, Mangaluru spoke about “Benefits for MSMEs & Government Initiatives”. 10-11-2022 – 2.30 p. m. – Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCIC) organized BCIC Emerging Star Award 2023, Namma Startup Award road show event at K-tech Innovation Hub, Mangaluru. KCCI was the supporting partner of the event. Around 50 startups registered for the award and attended the event. The event had three speakers addressing the startup companies. Shri Ganesh Kamath, President, KCCI addressed the gathering on the topic, ‘Opportunities to Startup in Coastal Karnataka’. Shri Rabindra Sah, Chief Engineer – Strategic Project Tata Technologies spoke on the topic, ‘Implementation of Deep Tech with Design Thinking’. Shri Mayur Shetty, Founder CEO, Black Frog Technologies expressed his views on ‘Entrepreneurs – Survival of the Fittest at Tier 2 city’. Mr. Jagan Karthick G, Program Lead, Derbi Foundation explained the registration process for the startups to nominate themselves for the award. Ahmed Bawa, representing KCCI as a nominated member of DRUCC attended the meeting. Various suggestions were placed before the meeting pertaining to Mangaluru Junction Railway Station.
14-11-2022 – 9.30 a. m. – The first sub-committee meeting of the KCCI for the Editorial Board of the Journal for the year 2022-23 was held at the conference room of KCCI. Ms. Athmika Amin, Director and Chairperson of the committee and Editor of the journal chaired the meeting. KCCI President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath, Hon. Secretary Shri Divakar Pai Kochikar was present in the meeting along with other committee members, Shri Aditya Pai, Smt. Vathika Pai, Shri Sourabh Nahata and Ms. Ashrika Amin.

04-07-2022 – 2.00 p. m. – An interactive meeting was held between the officials of Adani Mangaluru International Airport Ltd (AMIAL) and KCCI at the conference room of KCCI. KCCI President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor welcomed Shri Nirav Shah, Chief Airport Officer and Shri Vipin Nair, Head, Human Resources from AMAIL. Shri Nirav Shah discussed various infrastructure development measures in the airport in the coming months and took suggestions from the members present in the meeting. KCCI Vice-President Shri Ganesh M. Kamath, Director Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Past President Shri P.B. Abdul Hameed and Chief Operating Officer Shri Mytreya were present. Hon. 13-07-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – An interactive meeting with Industrial Linkage Cell was organized by District Skill Development office, Mangaluru at Kanara Industries Association (KIA) Hall, Baikampady, Mangaluru. . KIA President Shri Isaac Vas welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri Hemachandra, District Skill Development Officer, Govt. of Karnataka and industry members who were present. Shri Hemachandra briefed the members about various state government schemes and also answered to the queries by the members. KCCI President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor delivered the vote of thanks.
16&17-07-2022 – 9.30 a. m. – State Level Conference of District Chambers of Commerce and Industry was jointly organized by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI), Bengaluru and Karnatak Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Hubballi at Hotel Denissons, Hubballi. Chief Guest on the occasion was Hon’ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Basavaraj S. Bommai. 21-07-2022 – 11.30 a. m. – An Interactive meeting with Dakshina Kannada district officers, the heads of construction workers’ unions and construction owners’ unions was called by the Deputy Labour Commissioner (Nodal officer) (DLC -Construction Board), Govt. of Karnataka for Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Shivamogga districts, Shri K.V. Johnson at the Karmika Bhavan, Konchadi, Mangaluru to discuss about issues related to construction workers of the Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts. Representatives from various construction unions expressed their concerns and provided suggestions to the officers present. 25-07-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – KCCI organized an industrial visit by the BBA (Aviation and Hospitality Management) students of P.A First Grade college, Nadupadavu, Mangaluru, at Adani Mangaluru International Airport, Mangaluru. Ms. Pooja and Ms. Suhani, Airport Customer Service Executives, explained about various departmental functions in the departure terminal for domestic and international passengers. Students were also taken to the arrival hall and customs clearance area and shown them the procedures.

Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, President, KCCI, unveiled the portraits of stalwarts at the World Konkani Hall of Fame, Rev. Fr. Anil D’Mello, Director, Fatima Retreat Centre, released the booklet on the five stalwarts.

18-02-2022 – 2.00 p. m. – KCCI Vice-President Shri M. Ganesh Kamath met Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. Abdul Nazeer, Supreme Court of India, New Delhi at Circuit House, Mangaluru and briefed him about the developments in the KCCI Alternative Dispute Resolution Centre (KCCI ADR Centre). It may be recalled that Justice Abdul Nazeer had inaugurated the KCCI ADR Centre on 14th March, 2020.
21-02-2022 – 10.30 a. m. – Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC) organized a public hearing on tariff revision application by Mangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (MESCOM) at the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mangaluru. KCCI was represented by Hon. Treasurer CA Abdur Rahman Musba and Director and Chairman of Energy, Power, Banking, Finance and MSME, the sub-committee under Industrial Cell of KCCI, Shri B.A. Nazeer. It may be recalled that the KCCI had opposed the tariff revision by MESCOM.

5.30 p. m. – KCCI invited all the colleges’ representatives having their MoUs with KCCI for the interactive session on Industry Academia engagement program – The way forward at the conference room of KCCI. The meeting was chaired by the KCCI President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor. KCCI Director and Chairman of Information Technology under Industrial Cell sub-committee of KCCI Shri Ashith B Hegde addressed the college representatives on the importance of Supply Chain Management. KCCI Vice-President Shri Ganesh Kamath, Director and In-charge of Industry Academia Interconnect Shri P.B. Ahmed Mudassar, Director Shri Amit Ramachandra, Chief Operating Officer Shri Mytreya A also interacted with the members present. Hon. Secretary Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed presented the details of internships provided by KCCI to students of a few colleges at various companies and later delivered the vote of thanks.
05-02-2022 – 12 Noon – A representation was submitted by KCCI to Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) Commissioner Shri Akshay Shridhar at MCC office to grant permission to KCCI to maintain the parking area for the public situated at the annex of the chamber and also to maintain the garden and toilet. KCCI President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor, Hon. Secretary Shri Nissar Fakeer Mohammed and Port Ward Corporator Shri Abdul Lateef also met the commissioner.
08-02-2022 – 11.00 a. m. – The North Malabar Chamber of Commerce, Cannanore, KCCI, Mangaluru, Central University of Kerala, Department of Commerce and International Business, School of Business Studies in association with Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) organized Skill Development Programme on the topic, ‘Discussion on Union Budget 2022’ which was held virtually. Ms. Dheera K R, Faculty, Department of Commerce and International Business welcomed the gathering. KCCI President Shri Shashidhar Pai Maroor presented his inaugural address. The presidential address was by Prof. Dr. T Mallikarjunappa, Head, Department of Commerce and International Business, Central University of Kerala.
09-02-2022 – 7.45 a. m. – KCCI Vice President Shri Ganesh Kamath was invited to address the gathering at the meeting of BNI ADI CHAPTER at their weekly meeting as a part of International Networking Week.
